The point is, as the season progresses the results of actual 2025 games are used to gage strength of schedule and the results from 2024 are tossed into the dust bin of history.

This coach. His interview with Brock and Salk today had a different vibe to it. You get the sense he finally is
allowing himself to breathe a little. Salk asked him if he knew Mike Vrabel. He said "no". Salk asked what his
take is on the Patriots. He said he hasn't seen one second of tape on them. He delivered that so cold there is
no doubt he was telling the absolute truth. He had no fake cliche bull shit to spread. He has been totally zeroed
on beating the 9ers and Rams.

Yes, and I would assume that they will use the 2025 season to determine the strength of schedule for the 2026 season.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:10 amThe point is, as the season progresses the results of actual 2025 games are used to gage strength of schedule and the results from 2024 are tossed into the dust bin of history.

Sure, until the 2026 season begins then SoS will be calculated by the result of 2026 games. Remember, you posted this...
That is no longer accurate because SoS for this season is now calculated by the results of 2025 games, hence the Patriots actually had the 32nd ranked SoS and their opponents' win% was below .400. Does that make sense?

Was just reading ESPN's forecast for the game - 11 'writers/experts" gave opinions - every one picked Seattle. No one is picking NE. I am surprised the line is only 4.5 - I thought it would land closer to 7. On paper this feels like a one sided match up. I don't expect a blow out but I do think a 2 score win is a reasonable prediction.
The thing with SOS - it's it fluid? WOuldn't if have to change every week? Do injuries, weather, all the variables affect that? I generally ignore that stuff - I look at our division - absolutely bloodbath. I look at the rest of the divisions - none really scare me. Who in the AFC would LA/SF/SEA not be expected to beat in the SB this year? Literally anyone?
It's the NFCW - again - then the rest of 'em. SOS seems irrelevent - you play who's on the schedule.

Where did you get that information? Because when I went looking for strength of schedule, it took me to that ESPN link.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:09 pmSure, until the 2026 season begins then SoS will be calculated by the result of 2026 games. Remember, you posted this...

Absolutely love him. He isn't entirely comfortable speaking in public or on the radio yet and I find that enduring. I wouldn't be either. He is just Normal Dude and doesn't have any act or schtick or arrogance about him. Salt of the damn earth. I hope he is HC for the rest of my life and I think there is damn good chance he is.trharder wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:25 amThis coach. My God I can't believe this is a dozen post discussion. A fourth grader could understand why they use the prior season BEFORE the current season starts and the current season once there is a large enough sample, probably about mid way through the season.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:09 pmSure, until the 2026 season begins then SoS will be calculated by the result of 2026 games.
