Reds sign Eugenio Suarez
Re: Reds sign Eugenio Suarez
Is this what you guys are wanting. These bottom 10 in Ks noodle bat MFers that don't K a lot???? Only Mookie hit 20 HRs and they rest average single figures. Lame as F.

196 K's?! Tell me your joking bro!D-train wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 12:54 amI am fine not signing him if we actually get one more bat like Jerry promised but you guys really need to quit obsessing about Ks. There is almost zero correlation between Ks and run production. Ks are a byproduct of Power, a necessary evil. In order to cut down on Ks you sacrifice HRs which are MASSIVELY correlated to power. Take a look at the top 20 leaders in Ks. Look at all those homers!
Are you telling me you want Cal to cut down on his Ks and only hit 25 HRs??
Would you not want Schwarber or Ohtani or Matt Olson or Devers or Trout. Holy shit please stop with that nonsense.

I didn't say I wanted Geno back. He can't hit in T Mobile. .255 OBP with us last season was horrid. But worrying about Ks is nuts.

Re: Reds sign Eugenio Suarez
Exactly my point. You cant have two guys nearly throwing up 400 K's in a lineup. 1 is enough. But pair him with a contact or on base guy.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 2:06 amCal had 188 Ks!!!! Why do you care how they make their outs?Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 1:47 am196 K's?! Exactly. People have guys striking out with a guy on 3rd with less than two outs burned into their brains but it is such a minute % of possible outcomes.bpj wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 2:54 amWhy do you care how they make their outs?Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 1:47 am196 K's?! Fun fact. Ks are better than grounding into DPs which happens far more frequently.

Re: Reds sign Eugenio Suarez
And this thing about a lead-off hitter needs to be a contact hitter? Why? It's better to ground out to SS than strikeout? What I want in a lead-off hitter is power. I want a guy that the pitcher has to pitch to but at the same time has to be careful pitching to

Re: Reds sign Eugenio Suarez
When you make outs like Geno, strikeouts definitely matter. If he hit like Cal, I could care less what his strikeouts are. But he couldn't.bpj wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 2:54 amWhy do you care how they make their outs?Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 1:47 am196 K's?!
