Wilson's collapse was pretty epic. He went from underdog, to over achieving fan favorite and SB winner, to self absorbed narcissist the fans learned to loathe...

So true, and he has nobody to blame but himself. Imagine if he had just played the game, made his millions and then simply retired. Rather than be remembered as an absolute clown, he would have been remembered as a solid athlete, a team player and an all around good guy.

Too bad the ego and money went to his head. His wife must be as nutty as he is. He's the definition of cringe.

I think it's more wanting to belong to something, being a part of something which isn't ego driven in my mind. For as aloof as he might have been he still needs the camaraderie, be part of a team. I don't think you see Arron Rodgers taking a job as a backup qb. His ego isn't allowing it
