I think there's something that gets missed about JS, the analysts put things terms of replacing K9, finding another Walker. I don't think he's looking at it that way. He doesn't look backward. He's scouting the available talent and projecting how it could be utilized. It has nothing to do with comparisons to Walker.

Looking at what he's said about Wilson. He's a heavy runner with good feet, praised his staff for identifying him. Sounds a little like Lynch, Lynch really could break ankles. JS has also said they haven't had a runner like Wilson before which I find interesting. Would seem like a charbonnet type to me. So we shall see. It's not so much hyping him but I do feel he sees some qualities they want to try and exploit

Falcons sign Brian Robinson, he had continued to be linked to the seahawks because of the connection to the new OC, but that's been settled

I have posted way too much about this. Hope I am wrong but I just don't get how a team that ran the most of any team just does a 180 and pays its WRs more than any other team and is hoping to get lucky in the draft that is a weak RB draft and we have minimal picks.....

You aren't looking at this correctly. YOu are the team you have, not the team you want. When they had K9 and Charbs - they had a strength in the RB room - combined with Darnold being an unknown and an underperforming oline - leaning on the running game makes sense - then, when teams are playing the pass because Darnold was lighting them up, you counter with the run. Now, both RB's are gone, so you ramp up the passing game to offset that loss - especially since they have that talent already in-house. The RB room will have bodies - what they need to do is execute - not try to be K9.

This is looking like we are adapting to the situation - not forcing it. Paying K9 $15 mill a year - not the best allocation of resources. I like all the moves so far, they make sense. The team's identity can change offensively, which is not always a bad thing. RB's can very often be plug and play - and while we may not have K9's burst or outside speed - we may still get the same/similar production from the position group overall. It's not about "oh, we're a running team first" it's about "what is our strength right now..." and playing to that advantage. It can change - and it usually does - especially depending on the defense you are up against. We still haven't used the TE group to it's full capacity.

Thanks! You are right. I am so used to PC and his give my the run game and defense approach and you can only win the game in the 4th Quarter or give me death mentality I didn't even consider MM might be willing to adapt even though he is a defensive minded guy as well.

Not having as much of a threat with the run game will undoubtedly adversely impact the pressure opposing defenses will feel comfortable dialling up against Darnold. That makes it even more important to shore up RG and C.

They suck at playcalling and figured if both backs were B Robinson maybe they could get that squared away. Brian Robinson going where Bijan Robinson is? Tells me all I need to know about how bad that dude wants to play. Of course, if you watched them force feed Tylor Aglier all of last year until they were eliminated from playoff contention? I guess a backup back might feel pretty good about going there. I've never seen more coaches more confused about utilizing great talent than what has been in Atlanta since London, Bijan and Pitts have been there.

I've been wondering about that, how a less explosive run game would play. I don't think it mean a defense could pin their ears back and key on rushing Darnold. It still be a tough physical run game, maybe tougher than last seasons. Defenses will still feel compelled to stack the box. But you're not going to sustain drives as easily without that occasional big play. I think it come down to the play calling. Grinding it on the ground and taking the occasional shot over the top
