Excuse me, but if America is so great then why the Make America Great Again movement? MAGA seems first in line complaining about the place
I remember the first time I heard that term and thought wait, when did America ever stop being great? It's just a political buzzword like "change", "rebuild", "reform", etc. that politicians use to imply that the country/state/city has gone to hell in a handbasket and a vote for them will change/rebuild/reform all that. MAGA is a meaningless term, just like "social justice" which actually means "What I want".

Sure, I don't have a problem with it, it's catchy and it's worked. The Trump movement over the last decade has been remarkable. He's been an incredible political force. I'm just questioning complaining about others complaining about America when being allied with a movement that complains about America. We all get to complain about it

I went through a period where I was hanging around with a bunch of Eastern Europeans. It was fun,, great guys, literally cut an arm off for you. They like to take shots at America of course, very condescending . It was interesting to me how I'd react. I didnt want to be the guy, defending America, they'd like to try goading me into it. It was like you guys don't get a vote. I'll bitch about America but not with you guys. It's like you can bitch about your wife but nobody else better do it

Define "MAGA" for us please and tell us specifically what "they" are complaining about.

I always considered Trumps' MAGA to be the attempt to fix failed Democrat policy that had destroyed our country for the last few decades.

We were complaining about the bitchass liberals who ruined everything.

I'll go with bpjs, it was a reaction to where a segment of the population felt the country was heading. It was a complaint. It certainly wasn't a celebration.

And what's wrong with that? The attitude that if you're gonna complain about America you should leave is hard for me to grasp. America is about complaining, it's like being a baseball fan

The difference is we know the liberals are the problem, not "America".

At the moment, Trump is the example of what's wrong with our country.

Elected to root out corruption, ends up being blackmailed and/or compromised.

He's the festering wound. But behind the wound is a virus that needs to be eliminated.

Good summary of the difference:

Sure, but he's merely the instrument, no? Who's behind the curtain?

That's it I'm a nutshell, it really is, the essence. We absolutely need someone behind the curtain. Our sanity requires it. Even with it being a dark figure we sleep at knowing they are there, running things. Conspiracy theories have taken the place of religion. Once we came to acknowledge there's no God something had to take its place. But the deal is there's nobody behind the curtain, there's nobody at the wheel. Our fate is rudderless
