Really gotta give it to the bullpen. They have done such an amazing job without Brash or Speier. Really stepping up. Earning thier spots love it.

Certainly seems to be better with Legumina and Wilcox gone. Now if they can get rid of Simpson and Hoppe...

Simpson is gone. Hoppe should only be used in mop up. Davila and Gonzalez earning bigger spots.

However, this hasn't been helped by a defense that has suffered repeated lapses and ranks 27th with a horrendous -10.2 defensive fWAR. As such, the latest trade speculation is something which should interest the fanbase, as a way to strengthen one of the weakest defensive positions but also not rush the future

An article on trading for Matt Chapman. With four more years at $25 mil seems unlikely. The Giants might be a more likely trading partner than the Astros though I don't see the mariners in the market for bloated contracts. They could use a 3rd baseman next season. Emerson at SS, Donovan in left field. And it could be a nice spark for this season. There's your right handed bat. I'm beginning to warm to the idea. Trade Castillo for him
