And it took a miraculous bounce of the ball off a Ram player's helmet for the Seahawks to win game #2. So what's the point here?Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:45 pmYep, even this morning they talked about how we lined up for a sixty plus yard game winning FG. Re: Rams Acquire Myles Garrett.
Yes, I mentioned this yesterday. He wasn't the Defensive Player of the Year because he is a one trick pony.
Myles Garrett earned an impressive 82.5 run-defense grade, ranking 3rd among 115 qualified edge defenders in the most recent NFL season.Garrett has developed into a premier run stopper in recent years, consistently putting up run-defense marks over 78.0. His ability to effectively anchor against the run, combined with his league-leading pass-rush metrics, makes him one of the most complete edge defenders in football.
The Rams beat us once, lost in OT the next, and a game that came down to the wire the next. Adding the best player in football makes them scary...next year. Right now? That is all they care about.auroraave wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:47 pmWhat makes Seattle's defense great, is not someone flexing gaudy stats - it is literally the opposite of that. Seattle's defense has above average talent, and in some areas, excellent talent, but all that talent is utilized specifically within a scheme - a scheme that ultimately makes the whole unit better than the sum of thier parts.
Seattle won the SB because the front four could stop the run AND get pressure - allowing the back seven to wreak havoc - each player on defense EXECUTED thier specific assignment - all of that greatly exacerbated by Mac's superior scheming and disguising. The result? Stats spread around and a SB trophy.
Cleveland had a pretty damn good defense. Their offense sucked ass. The Defense was also on the field way too long. You can not POSSIBLY compare the situation Garrett was in last year to the one he steps into this year. Oh yeah, the Rams also added McDuffie.
We said that after the last Super Bowl too. I am happy with where this team is at, but the amount that Seahawk fans are trying to downplay the Rams adding the best defensive player in football? Is hilarious to me.auroraave wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:47 pmSeattle does not need a big flash acquisition - it'll break up the chemistry of the team - the unity. People get hard ons over stats while always always always always alway ingnoring context. I do not know if hew would make us better - but to get him we would 100% lose a valuable piece, a valuable cog on the best defense in the NFL in years. It could very well be a case of subtraction by addition.
Seattle needs to stay the course, keep the core together, ride out this season, compete for a SB, while knowing they have a massive draft haul coming. The Lambs, and very like the NFL, desperately need the Lambs to show out at home for the SB - it'll be the biggest SB promotion in years. It'll be huge egg on the facew of the Lambs if they do not host the SB at home - all the pressure is on them - let them make splash moves. We do not need to, we are set for the next few years.
He isn't just a pass rusher. If you have to ask yourself if the Rams are better with Garrett than without, next year? You aren't watching football.auroraave wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:47 pmI don't know if Garret makes them better, that can only be determined when they play. Losing Verse is a big loss. I want to know how Garrett plays against the stretch run - because, it seems to me, the best way to neutralize this seemingly "unicorn pass rusher' the Lambs got - is by running the ball and taking that advantage away.
Funny how no one points that out.

Myles Garrett is an elite run defender. While he is historically renowned as the best pass rusher in the NFL, his ability to stop the run is just as dominant, frequently grading out as one of the very best run-stopping edge defenders in the league
Re: Rams Acquire Myles Garrett.
Edge Rushers don't usually line up opposite Guards...lolSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:06 pmIt's going to be the same offensive line. Imagine if the Rams line Garrett up opposite Bradford. I mean, omg.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 5:22 amNow the seahawks need to respond. And that's really going to be our new OC, hopefully he's up to it. We've been talking about the improved offensive line, well it's got a bigger challenge now. I doubt he's rationalizing that Garrett isn't really that good and ignoring it. Now the scheming begins. It's nice that they don't have a, run for your life sort of offensive line as in the past

You know who else mentioned chip blocks? Garrett himself in that little vid you posted of he asking Kittle to to chipping him....Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:34 pmThe same offensive line is a good thing, ultimately it's going to take a team effort to stop Garrett, that's what you get with the continuitySibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:06 pmIt's going to be the same offensive line. A. J. Barner asked if he's thinking about having to face Garrett
“For sure. You know, I grew up in Cleveland, so I’ve seen all the success that Myles has had and got a lot of respect for the player that he is,” Barner said. “When that game rolls around, I’m sure we’ll have a bunch of chip blocks for him and outside zone”Barner specifically mentioned chip blocks and outside zone, which points to the practical reality of facing Garrett. The Seahawks are not going to erase a player like that with one blocker. They are going to have to make him work through formations, help blocks, run action and tempo

Yep heard that too. 4 picks by Sam which turned out to be a massive aberration by the end of the season when he had no post season turnovers, once in a decade punt AND dogshit clock management which also was responsible for the 63 yarder vs. a ~40 yarder.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:45 pmYep, even this morning they talked about how we lined up for a sixty plus yard game winning FG. I brought it up earlier, I think what's being overlooked is where the SB is getting played. The more I think about it the more I'm thinking that's a driver here. On one hand, the Rams are determined to play in a SB in their stadium, but even more so, they are probably determined not to watch the seahawks doing it. It's going to make it even sweeter

The point is if neither crazy thing happened we would have still beat them two of three. Interesting they traded the guy who caused the crazy bounce. lolSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:56 pmAnd it took a miraculous bounce of the ball off a Ram player's helmet for the Seahawks to win game #2. Is that what you were referring to as ironic? Sorry if that was the case.

I thought the irony was my pointing out the gap between the teams was primarily special teams but the Rams managed a great STs play to win that gameSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 5:06 pmIs that what you were referring to as ironic? Sorry if that was the case.
