I could see them going after a two month rental, an older vet, not much defensive value a platoon dh against lefties. Filling Rysnyders role and not spending a lot to try to do it, some right handed pop.
What pop?

I am a big No on Martin because he reminds me of my Aston Martin nightmare.

Theoretically a RH who can play 3B or LF.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 12:55 amIts crazy. As mediocre as our offense is there is nobody they will replace other than Refsnyder.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 12:42 amWhere do you play him? He's a 2B or 1B.Big_Maple wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 12:38 am
If we didn’t care about power. Luis Arraez is likely gong to be available. He’s batting something like .320
The dude can get in base and he can drive in runs, but he’s not going to hit a lot of dingers. I’ve been eager to get him for years now.
They just need a spark in their offense. We are languishing in mediocrity right now.
Spencer Steer and Casey Schmitt fill that void.

I took on some Brit cars when I was young, three I believe it was MGs, an Austin Healey. Learned enough to be careful of them. A friend bought a Jaguar I think with that same attitude. A low cost impressive automobile. Sales price has nothing to do with it lol.

Aroldis is obviously option 1. There will definitely be competition for Garcia. I'll keep pounding the table for Sam Bachman. It makes too much sense. Whos gonna come back 1st JP or Dono? Nobody seems to be liking the idea of Bachman.
Re: A potential trade target for the M's
That would require benching Dom or Raley, two of our best hitters....

They aren't going to platoon Colt or Randy and if Randy is DH then Canzone is benched...Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 1:03 amTheoretically a RH who can play 3B or LF.

I bought Lynda a Jaguar convertible in 2006 and we sold it to her brother about 5 years ago. He still has it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 1:07 amI took on some Brit cars when I was young, three I believe it was MGs, an Austin Healey. Learned enough to be careful of them. You can do a lot of things with a Spencer Steer or Casey Schmitt.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 1:31 pmThey aren't going to platoon Colt or Randy and if Randy is DH then Canzone is benched...Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 1:03 amTheoretically a RH who can play 3B or LF.

DH them against lefties... give players days off by moving them across the diamond... move Emerson or Randy to DH for a day to get them off their feet... give Naylor some breaks against lefty pitching as Steer and Schmitt can also both play 1B.
And Canzone serves as a wonderful PH on days where lefties start.
There hasn't been a single time this season where this team couldn't have used a solid righty bat against left handed pitchers... either due to Ref sucking or injuries. I don't see that changing through out the year.
