This is my opinion. about the front office. Dan is close to being considered for change..winning this series will save his jobSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2026 11:08 pmGilbert's ERA drops to 3.19 and a .95 WHIP...
What looked like a guy who the M's would trade now looks like an All Star with a couple more starts like this. Crazy turn around.
Yes Gilbert raised his stock, joined three other potential all stars: Young, Miller, and Arozarena. Gilbert stays an M this entire season. Right now it is Castillo (70% chance) or a slim chance Hancock (20% chance) getting traded this season.
If Hancock wins against Yessavage tomorrow Castillo is going to be traded at deadline-100%. Changes are coming...most likely outcome, one reliever and one right hand bat (Spencer Steer or Seiya Suzuki will come.) for reliever? My guess was Anthony Bender of the Marlins but he just hit the injured list. So,I am betting or guessing Luke Weaver. Weaver pitched briefly for Seattle in 2023 and remade himself into a high-end reliever. Jerry Dipoto loves familiar faces and overlooked/repurposed arms. Contract: He's on a two-year deal (through 2027), which adds some cost but makes him a known commodity rather than a pure rental.
