Im not looking to fire Dipoto. Its not the same thing as firing a manager or trading a player. Its more about tossing everything out and starting over. You need to take stock of the entire situation
So.....what's your evaluation of the entire situation?
Im not firing him because of a disapointing season. I dont want to be that reactive about it. This stuff really comes down to communication, most business situations do. Dipotos job isnt choosing talent, its enabling communication. He has a staff to handle talent. The question is how well is that functioning? Theres seems to be a lot of evidence of it working pretty well actually. I think theres probably teams out there envious with how dipoto has things running. But i dont know, maybe theres friction behind it. Maybe the communication is an issue. But saying, this team sucks. Lets fire dipoto and see if some other guy can do better at it isnt a plan to me.

That being said, i dont particully like the guy. And i wouldnt shed tears over his getting fired. Hes been at it a really long time, theres that too.
They wouldn't be firing him because of this season it would be because of a 2 trips to the playoffs in ELEVEN seasons which is pathetic in the Wild Card/Expanded playoffs era.

And why in the F would they toss everything out??? They keep all the good players and prospects and coaches and toss the rest out. Pretty simple...This isn't College football. They don't have to worry about guys hitting the transfer Portal. And I am willing to be most of the players would do a Munchkins in the Wizard of Oz type celebration when they found out the Wicked Witch was dead when he finally gets canned.

I'm not talking about players, I'm talking about staff. A new gm is going to want to bring his own people in. Terms of eleven years ago. That's when I would have been a lot more agreeable to firing him actually. I hated the first years. I'm more impressed with him now than then. If we were going to fire him for that it should have happened then

This is what I am advocating. Joking about Hunter taking on 3 roles. He could promote his #2 in amateur scouting to Head of amateur scouting.....

As for his recent success, a Good GM would have a 6 year playoff run from 2021-26. He will be 2 of 6 if we miss again this season.

Hard to believe that there are still people who would defend Dipoto's dumbass.

You know that's how we ended up with Z as GM, his ability to judge talent

How did we wind up with Jerry. Him tricking the owners into thinking he could take us to a WS just be adding:

Ianetta: 0.1 WAR
Lind: -0.3
Aoki 1.8
Leonys Martin 1.6
Seth Smith 0.6
Dae Ho Lee 0.3
Steve Clevenger 0.0
Wade Miley 0.4
Nate Karns 0.1

Baker later proved he was a complete Fraud. And falsified his resume...
