After the season ends, someone in the media needs to interview Ward and get his opinion on why his numbers plummeted after becoming a Mariner.

What, you don't think the ballpark here suppresses offense? The problem is that he's hitting almost as badly on the road. What else has changed? Well, could it be the platooning is messing him up after being an everyday player in Baltimore?

He was playing everyday initially. I don't think he'd platoons until last got here

Ward was on a rough streak when he was traded... OPS had dropped 23 points over 12 games before the trade.
Struggles continue when he gets here... then he gets hurt... double whammy.
Is Ward a great ball player? Likely not. For sure not right now.
Is he as bad as he's been? Likely not either... I think his falling off is just a perfect storm of bad timing and ofc it's the Mariners who bear it.
