Those that watch this fucking team for any stretch and worry about anything more than the offense confuse the shit out of me.
I worry about more than the offense. The offense in most years isn't good and that probably won't change so long as they are playing in this ballpark, which means it won't change. So I think a lot about other aspects of the game.
Last season they were 10th in ops, and ninth in scoring. So what happened? I contend its three players, Naylor, Julio and Cal. Everyone is like, fire everybody, trade everybody when in my mind that's it, those three. I don't think any of them are getting traded. I think we are stuck with hoping they don't suck next season. They can add something to the lineup but it's really going to come down to those three not sucking again isn't it?
It is if the players they add to the roster aren't better than those guys.

That's the problem. Other contending teams add stars to their current roster and actually try and improve. Dipoto adds has-been bums and never-was's and hopes his birds in hand are good enough.

Yeah, I don't expect them to add another set of star players next season to try and compensate for the stars they have sucking. No matter who they add, it's going to come down to those guys not sucking. They aren't adding another 12 war of value over the off season. And I don't think there's many teams out there that would

So ironic because Jerry preeches sustainability and not being "stuck in the mud for a decade" but now he has fucked himself dumping hundreds of Millions on Cal, Julio, Colt and Naylor.

Which stars do the Mariners currently have?

I count zero.

They're not that good to begin with.

Jerry tries to pass off our guys who should be #6 batters as MOTO bats and they're not (even though you bought into it hook, line, and sinker).

Even at 60 HR's Cal didnt have a great OPS and not many of us expected a repeat year from Mr. Torpedobat.

Then, on top of the obvious drop-off from Cal, Dipoto watched Geno and Polanco's bats depart, and he brought in Brendan Donovan.

Don't forget fan favorite Naylor!
