2026-2027 Kraken season thread
So the team ranked 29th or 30th in the entire league by virtually everyone starts the season by stomping the Flamers in their house 6-1. Had a fun time watching it and hopefully the boys play with a chip on their shoulder all season. Their ceiling is probably barely scraping their way into the playoffs and let's see if they can do it.

They played Edmonton tough and then destroyed Calgary a 2nd time.
I absolutely love that there's not some big lumbering dumb, slow defensive player out there turning the puck over every other possession.
I really like Bobby McMann. And we're seeing some signs from Wright and Beniers that they're improving a little.
Who knows, maybe they can shock us this year.

Yeah, the Flamers might well be the worst team in the league, but 6-1 twice? Definitely a good start to the season after hearing about how much they suck all offseason.XpertDBA wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2026 5:36 pmThey played Edmonton tough and then destroyed Calgary a 2nd time.

On the bright side, lots of roughing, fighting and misconducts in the 3rd period. At least they're entertaining the fans. If they're not going to win, at least start playing dirty so they don't bore the fans to sleep.

Three times in five games the boys have put up six goals, gotta like that. Now if they could just beat a good team...
So they beat the Crapitals 5-3 today. Man, having two All-Stars tell them "Nah, I don't want to be on your dogshit team" must have lit a fire under them. Hopefully it stays lit for another 78 games.

With the abortion that is the Seattle Seahawks rearing its ugly head of offense, it's nice to see the kids put together 2 great road wins. I will tell you though, I have a new Oleksiak on this team, and his name is Ryker Evans. Damn man, another turnover machine.....where do we find these soft, stupid defensemen?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2026 4:53 pmThree times in five games the boys have put up six goals, gotta like that. I get the feeling there will always be a d-man on the team you hate.
Re: 2026-2027 Kraken season thread
I don't mind it if you're not the best defenseman and are at least trying to do your job. I can't stand it when you just continually turn it over in your own zone time after time after time. Ryker is starting to become that guy. I'll give him another 30-40 games, but I noticed this at the end of last season as well.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2026 2:46 amI get the feeling there will always be a d-man on the team you hate.Let's just hope Chase Reid doesn't become that guy.
