Think back to Sheldon Richardson, who only had to be traded for because we believed losing the ATV racer was the end of the world. Percy Harvin, Jamaal Adams...there are more. Hell, Cooper Kupp isn't exactly earning his money is he?
Cooper Kupp has recorded 56 total regular-season catches (47 in 2025 and 9 through Week 5 of 2026) since signing with the Seattle Seahawks in March 2025, ranking well outside the top 50 wide receivers in the NFL over that span.
Not sure why it couldn't tell me where he ranks overall, but "well outside the top 50" paints a pretty bleak picture.
Do we know what happens if we made a different move though? When we looked at this team in the Off Season, no one saw them fumbling and throwing a ton of picks. If they didn't do that? We are 5 and 0 and happy with things.
When I looked at the Mariners starting lineup in March I thought....we are nowhere near as good as last year. THAT is the type of shit that pisses me off. This group has a ring, is a bounce or two away from 5 and 0, and just won a Super Bowl. I'm not ready to publicly flog them because they signed a guy that ran the opening kickoff of our first playoff game back for a TD.
As McVey if he wishes he had our Special Teams?
And as I said before, I think Shaheed was largely inconsequential to the Seahawks Super Bowl run as his KR TD's would have been less necessary if he had simply caught the football more and had TD production relative to a WR2.
The team would be better with a better threat at wideout than Shaheed and resources would have been better allocated not re-signing him.
Had the M's re-signed K9... which I said I was more in favor of than re-signing Shaheed... Denzel Boston went 7 picks after Jadarian Price. I thought the Hawks needed a bigger bodied box out wideout and that Shaheed didn't really fit into the offense...
Mike Evans is 18th in yards per game and through 5 games has more catches than Shaheed has in 17 games with the Hawks. He's making $3M less.
Mike Evans is a red zone threat and a professional. He is on nearly a a Larry Fits, Rice level.

Was Shaheed the featured receiver on his previous team? Maybe Seattle is using him to take the top off the defense so that JSN can be the featured WR and Barner and the backs can operate along with Cooper underneath.douche wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 8:31 pmAccording to this, Shaheed has been targeted 19 times this season. AI says he has 3 drops. Njigba has been targeted 49 times with two drops. (It would have been interesting to see how that Niners game had gone if he had made that catch at the end).![]()
So how much of it is simply due to the play-calling? Are they just not utilizing him enough? Or not utilizing him properly? I don't know.

One thing I really don't understand. Fleury came from being this mastermind TE coach from SF, right?
With Barner, Saubert and Arroyo, why aren't we coming up with more 8-15 yard plays for the TE position?
14 catches in 5 games for the TE position and Arroyo has ZERO?
This guy is completely over his head.
I was actually looking forward to Barner becoming a star and Arroyo at least catching 1-2 balls a week. But we get this?

When the run game is struggling, you'd think they'd want to incorporate more short easy "long handoff" type throws to the TE. Makes me wonder if they just can't afford to have them run routes because they are blocking? But my gut tells me they are too worried about getting the three WRs some balls. And what's up with Horton?
The offense has struggled way more than it should. Even when Price was there, his explosiveness was on display at times, but never really the weapon it should have been. But? Maybe that's because the guy has been an offensive quality control coach a couple of times, a TE coach once....and is now asked to call plays at the NFL level?

No he wasn't. Chris Olave was. LOL he is averaging 10 years reception with a long of 23 yards.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2026 8:43 amWas Shaheed the featured receiver on his previous team? We could live to 2100 and the Seahawks would still not be throwing to our TEs....XpertDBA wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2026 1:55 pmOne thing I really don't understand. Fleury came from being this mastermind TE coach from SF, right?

Re: Rasheed Shdogshit
Are you saying the guy that was smart enough to let the Superbowl MVP RB1 walk knowing the RB2 was out for the most of the season would be dumb enough to hire an unqualified OC?
Crazy thing about life is smart people make mistakes. Sometimes big ones. I know that all to well.

Well, Grubb wasn't around long. We'll see what MM decides with regard to Fleury.
