like the Mariner - Robinson Cano negotiations, Howard Lincoln was the one reported to be handling those, Z was never mentioned
It's not an all or none thing. I think they both come in to play. It depends on the owner, the gm and the market.
Agree. I think it hinges on whether the organization considers player salary as an expense or an investment. I think this org. still considers it the former and as having a negative impact on profit vs. a driver of revenues.

Excellent insight. *ANY* business (or household, or individual) has to distinguish between expense and investment.

I think Howard saw Cano as an investment, that is why they went after him

Ty Duvall, INF/OF, Vanderbilt
Justin Lavey, SS/3B, Louisville
Matt Scheffler, C, Auburn
Brett Rodriguez, INF, Wofford
if you look at this list the Royals don't look that impressive, so I don't know, not gonna bother to dig any deeper

Free agents..... not sure that is the way to the promised land. I wonder how much the Angels have "invested" in free agents to build this team.... Pujols, Ohtani, and Rendon?

Yes. They still have to be "good" investments.

And they might consider spending a bit of the War chest on Starters.

We really need to win both these games and hope the Dodgers take care of the Astros then it will be down to our head to head games with them down the stretch. Pretty simple.
