one year $11mil seems pretty low risk
Guessing we will be taking even less risk unless JD finds himself a soft tossing lefty reliever that he falls in love with.
Ugh. Please don't ever mention soft tossing leftys in this forum ever again.... we don't need another HoRam pukefest. Jamie Moyer doesn't count, he was a brilliant magician on the mound. :D
Speaking of soft tossers, RIP to this very successful practitioner of the art:

Craig Edwards from FanGraphs figures Taijuan Walker to get 2-years and a total of $19 million, $9.5 a year.

The King of the lefty soft tossers was Tony Fossas. Made Mlb debut at age 30 and pitched until he was 41 yo because he could get lefties out. .585 OPS against vs. LHBs and .858 vs. RHBs.

I remember him. He threw so slow and easy, you wanted to run down to the bat rack and have a crack at him yourself. I seem to remember he had a hell of a change-up.

The fact that we signed him at 40 yo in 1998 tells you how desperate we were. If only we had even and average pen from in 1996 and 1998

Saw this tweet today, still seems like a good idea to me.

I could settle for Haniger in right with Lewis in center since Santanas long gone.
