Very similar stats as his bosom buddy in 2020. Also same body and also LH.

KS .188/.701

Vogey .209/.722
Yeesh, that's fugly!

I do think we'll get reclamation projects to fill the short term gaps though.

Any bounceback candidate is going to be a target in LF, SP and RP imo.

His numbers don't look so bad next to Evan Whites though. That's one thing we can keep in mind with Kelenic knocking on the door. Jared only needs to be better than the LF or Evan White and the LF can move to 1B if Evan needs AAA.

Kidding aside, I think a LH bat is a good idea, so long as there is some degree of power that comes along with it. From among Kolten, Kole, and Kyle (I wonder if the original poster had a thing about the 11th letter of the alphabet) I’d opt for Calhoun.

It is funny to hear talk of adding a left handed bat to the lineup, while also hearing talk about a Seager trade...

You know who else is left handed, Gregory Polanco.

I was going to note that Calhoun and Seager are very similar in production, and I'd prefer someone who can hit for a better average, but I still subscribe to the somewhat archaic belief that some teams (like ours) can do a lot better folding in more LH offense into the lineup. So, I'd take Kole. Without looking at the splits, at first blush, he seems to hit well in T-Mo - at least he did with the Angels. The problem would be, where to put him. If Haniger is healthy, I like our options with him more, unless Calhoun serves as a LH option and insurance policy in RF.

Yep but I would rather have a non reclamation project like Brantley who could do the same or move to DH. M's don't need to pinch pennies they f-ing owe us.

Maybe the Pirates are one of the lines they are burning up. No idea way they are more focused on BP arms though.
On offseason additions, Dipoto’s primary focus is on adding bullpen pieces, but he is perhaps going about it in a different way than originally thought. In his end of the season press conference, Dipoto said it was likely that bullpen additions would be made through free agency. On Tuesday, he went in a slightly different direction.

“We have as always been burning up the lines talking to clubs about ways we might be able to match up in trades for controllable pitching, particularly in the bullpen, and we will continue to monitor the free agent market.”

Divish is dreading another Thanksgiving Eve blockbuster trade like the Segura Haniger deal. I would settle for an appetizer of old corn nuts aka a mid thirties reliever that was pretty good five years ago.

Would anyone trade Kyle Seager and Taylor Trammell to Atlanta for third baseman Austin Riley and center fielder Ender Inciarte?

Baseball Trade Values has the trade as a perfect match:

https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trades/trade-30048/

The Mariners gamble that Riley replaces Seager long-term and Inciarte provides a bridge to Seattle’s touted outfield prospects.

Seager joins the club closest to his North Carolina roots and Trammell returns to his home state.

But I am a fan of Kyle Seager, an underrated player whose lefthanded power bat is needed in the Mariner lineup.
