Saw that. He is the absolute perfect fit. If they let him go you know we are not doing jack to improve the team and are obsessed with saving money.
Even the left handed bat they want, costs only dollars. Seems like a good opportunity to painlessly fill a hole.
13 HRs in 57 games last season. Lewis lead the team with 11 in 58 games.
I'd jump on him, but something tells me won't get him or we'll pass on him, either way.

Trevor May's love of Ken Griffey Jr. apparently wasn't enough to lead him to Seattle. Signs with the Mets on a two year deal. No big loss imo.
Should the Mariners turn their attention to less-expensive bullpen options such as free agents Jeremy Jeffress, Justin Wilson and Keone Kela?
Wow, Jeffress is the Personification of a reliever and why a team should never commit significant resources to them.

ERA Whip
2016 2.33 1.26
2017 4.68 1.64
2018 1.29 0.99
2019 5.02 1.37
2020 1.54 0.94

That is insanity.
Maybe we can get him in 2022 for his next Good year. Looks like he's right on schedule for a 5 ERA season if the pattern holds

Hosmer had that even odd year suck/good craziness going on for 8 years. Everyone is familiar with home road and RH/LH splits but how can a guy have even odd years splits like that. So odd. Odd, get it. lol Finally broke out of it the past couple.

He put up 0.9 WAR in 57 games which project to about 2.5 WAR in a full season but guessing JD is saving his FA funds for 0 or negative WAR relievers.

Eddie Rosario seems like he's worth a look in the OF given what's available short term. Was just DFA'd to save $'s.

Eddie Rosario to Seattle would be OK if the outfielder helped reunite Nelson Cruz with Scott Servais:

We can now negotiate with him if we would like to.
Eddie Rosario goes unclaimed
Placed on outright waivers on Tuesday, Eddie Rosario has cleared waivers. He is expected to be non-tendered before the deadline later today and would become a free agent. The outfielder was projected to make between $9-10 million in arbitration. He hit 13 home runs in 57 games in 2020 and has 119 home runs in 697 career games, all with Minnesota.
