I have a morbid curiosity to see what Gonzaga will do to this pathetic assemblage of broken parts.

Hopkins was a bad hire. Never hire a 30 year assistant coach to be your head coach, huh Jenny?

I don't know. First of all, I am not even sure why Naz Carter isn't playing, but that isn't on Hop. Second, he took a bunch of guys that Romar couldn't do ANYTHING with and won the Conference and made the Dance. Didn't we even win a tourney game? We were at least competitive. Third, who can fault him for going after the one and done guys? After beating Baylor in game one, who could have seen last year's collapse? Fourth, this is really the only year he didn't do a great job in recruiting. I am certainly willing to give him time.

As much as we might want to think otherwise, this isn't a dream job, nor is it a dream location for a top flight Pac 12 recruit. It isn't even the best landing spot for a top flight recruit in our own State as Gonzaga is basically Duke West these days! COVID has fucked everything up...I am willing to see what his next recruiting class or two looks like. I have a sneaky feeling he is going to avoid the one and done guys.

Hop has no personality and/or charisma. I think he is better at designing an offense than Romar but he just doesn't make the players want to bust their asses. At least Romar had enough of that leadership quality that the players put out for him, chaotic and formless as his brand of basketball was.

What makes you think that? Romar was here, with the #1 pick in the draft and it was one of the worst years in Husky history. Hop took those kids, minus the #1 pick and some recruits, to the Dance the next year?

If you think that you don't really know anything about Hopkins. He has a lot of personality and charisma as far as I can tell that is his only plus side. He certainly doesn't seem to be able to coach a bunch of individuals into a team. And he doesn't appear to be able to recruit talent either.

Yeah if Hop doesn't have charisma then Scott Servais is a corpse.

Sounds like you have more of a disagreement with Michael K than with me.

I'm just not ready to say he stinks. But the evidence otherwise is starting to mount.

One crazy thing about yesterday....they missed like EVERY SHOT, and had four offensive boards! WTF?

Maybe they should hire Dennis Rodman to teach them how to rebound.

I couldn't believe the stat lines. Besides Quade, no one showed up. 1 for 10 from three? How is that even possible? If I hit one of ten my coach would have never let me shoot another, and it CERTAINLY wouldn't have gone down in one game.
And this is the kid shooting 33 percent from the field over three seasons. Why in the world is he even being ALLOWED to shoot ten threes? Or any, for that matter? It makes no sense.
