Yep but the good news is we will be competing for the playoffs.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:44 pmhaven't followed this any closer than the election...Marmolejos is our left fielder?...lolD-train wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:31 pmbtw these projections seem light to me. What do you guys think.

I would like to think France in LF or Moore in LF with France and 2B and Marm at DH are two superior options

The Padres have an agreement in place to acquire Blake Snell from the Rays, report Dennis Lin, Josh Tolentino and Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic (Twitter link). Luis Patiño, Francisco Mejía and prospects Blake Hunt and Cole Wilcox would head back to Tampa Bay. The deal is pending review of medicals.

So basically Gilbert, Kirby... around a no. 15 position player prospect, and someone like Torrens gets it done.BaseHitDerby wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 4:53 amThe Padres have an agreement in place to acquire Blake Snell from the Rays, report Dennis Lin, Josh Tolentino and Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic (Twitter link). I keep telling you DT, this is what the M's are thinking. I know you have different ideas, which I respect, but they just need a warm body out there until Kelenic gets here. Haniger and Lewis will be full time in CF and RF.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:45 pmYep but the good news is we will be competing for the playoffs.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:44 pmhaven't followed this any closer than the election...Marmolejos is our left fielder?...lolD-train wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:31 pmbtw these projections seem light to me. If the M's are thinking they're competing for a playoff spot next season w. the merry bunch of nobodies they've once again thrown together, they're dreaming.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 10:12 amI keep telling you DT, this is what the M's are thinking. The M's can think that all they want, but I won't applaud irrational thinking... even if it's simply a ploy to appease a frustrated fan base.

We'll see where there record is after the 1st month. I guess I'm expecting a much better performance out of Kelenic than most of us.

Yes, over a 60-game season where they went 7-11 to finish the year following a 5-game win streak that put them in the hunt. The 7-11 record was indicative of young players who lost steam and whose stats fell off a cliff.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 4:30 pmthey did it this last seasonIStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 4:25 pmIf the M's are thinking they're competing for a playoff spot next season w. the merry bunch of nobodies they've once again thrown together, they're dreaming.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 10:12 am

Lets say they play a 120 game schedule this year instead of 60... 6 games under .500 after 60 games isn't going to cut it even in an expanded system.
These players have yet to prove they can do it over a long haul and the M's have hardly done anything to add players who've proven they can do it as well.
I expect another year of fun growing pains, and the M's better spend a boat fucking load of cash in 2022 or they're joking us. But 2021 ain't it.
