Any Power Ranking that comes out before every team has played seems a bit stupid to me. Are they saying if the Colts beat the Niners, nothing in their rankings will change? What if the 49ers dominate? That doesn't move them up? I realize that Power Rankings mean nothing, but publishing them before all the games have been played is pretty dumb. Tell me you realize your rankings don't mean shit without telling me your rankings don't mean shit. LOL

Denver moved up because KC and Green Bay fell below them.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 23, 2025 4:25 pmWhats up with the Ravens? They lose to the Patriots and they move up 3 spots? They have lost 3 of their last 4 all to teams that are below them in this ranking. Also Denver loses to Jacksonville and moves up 2 spots while Jacksonville only moves up 1 spot. Something is flawed in the algorithm.
Pretty sure that the FPI is an algorithm based on record, statistics and strength of schedule. I don't believe it has any opinion component.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Dec 23, 2025 4:49 pmPower rankings are just some guy's opinion and usually put too much weight on w/l records rather than underlying measures of performance.
