I'd say Bird's cred just took a hit, but I would bet that not one lib anywhere questioned her idiotic opinion. Even we acknowledge that Trump acts foolish and does dumb things sometimes. I guess that's what makes us better than them.

Re: Sue bird in the News
Bird might want to look around the nation at the number of young girls playing soccer and compare it to those that play basketball.
There are 4.2 million players (2.5 million male and 1.7 million female) registered with U.S. Soccer.
Soccer in the United States - Wikipedia
A quarter of 26.3 million play basketball...so between 6 and 7 million. That is more than the US total population that plays soccer and five times as many girls play basketball. What makes her believe soccer is more popular?A quarter of the 26.3 million basketball participants are female. Nearly half are under the age of 18. But, participation does not drop off quickly after high school. A healthy 28% of participants are ages 18 to 34 and 24% are 35 and older.Mar 15, 2012

Hard to have ratings when no one televises your games. Maybe her bitch should be with television companies, not the American people that apparently make their viewing decisions on sexual preference and race!? What a dumb ass.

Well, there are more people that play soccer than just those registered with U.S. Soccer. But the logistics of "pick-up" soccer probably make it difficult.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 2:59 pmBird might want to look around the nation at the number of young girls playing soccer and compare it to those that play basketball.

Just trying to figure out how they think that womens soccer is more popular. I have seen plenty of Men's League basketball leagues and a ton of YMCAs that open up their gymnasium to pickup basketball. Haven't seen that include woman very often, so not sure including pickup sports when talking about the womans game is relevant.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 6:16 pm

The same thing that makes the media all in for Joe Biden. They look around, talk to each other, and then say, "Golly! Everybody I know is voting for Biden so he MUST be ahead in the polls!" She looks around, talks to everyone in her personal bubble, and says to herself. "Golly! Everybody I know plays soccer so it must be more popular than basketball!"D-train wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 4:12 pmMaybe she was talking TV ratings??? Re: Sue bird in the News
But the figures you quoted for basketball participation seemed to be based on polls and the figures for soccer were the number of people registered with a national organization that promotes the sport. Unless you're assuming that all those basketball playing people are registeted with U.S. Basketball or whatever, then i'm not sure the two sets of data are useful for comparison.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 6:39 pmJust trying to figure out how they think that womens soccer is more popular. Re: Sue bird in the News
Maybe I misread the data. I Googled the same question. "how many girls in the US play soccer" and "how many girls in the US play basketball". Maybe it was lazy research on my part, but I assumed they were registered to play in actual organized events, from youth to college. Was that not the case for the basketball numbers I posted?
