Yes they were come at each other head on and she probably didn't see him or thought she could beat him through the intersection. Guessing he was going pretty fast so she misjudged how much time she had.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 3:57 pmThe SUV was coming from the opposite direction then?

Yeah, you can read it either way, took me a moment, buy yeah, don't think it fits the context
Re: RIP Alex Collins
So bizarre here in Boston. People risk their lives taking left turns but free right turns are usually not allowed so people act like they are jumping out of an airplane for the first time when taking right turns. TOTALLY counterintuitive.
Also, Pedestrians cross intersections diagonally which assumes no cars at all are going through from any direction. Weirdest shit I have ever seen.

on terms of the law I don't know, he had the right of way. I had a little bit of a similar deal here, nothing like that, not even a fender bender. I pulled on to the road with a motorcycle coming.. I didn't judge his speed correctly, I think he was really speeding and I didn't realize it. I think it could be difficult to judge the speed of something coming at you. Anyway, he dumped his bike but at a low speed. But what's interesting, people will tell you if you're a foreigner you're screwed if you have an accident. It's going to be your fault and you're going to have to pay. But the crowd sided with me. That's whats important, what the crowd thinks. He quickly conceded. His leg seemed sore so I gave him 500 pesos to see a doctor, I doubt he did, but he seemed gratefulD-train wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 4:28 pmYes they were come at each other head on and she probably didn't see him or thought she could beat him through the intersection. yep, rode a bike once, when i was 13, and 3 days later got out of the hospital. doctors all said it's what you give your kid for his last birthday.maoling wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 8:35 pmHow sad. I liked him. Wish he could have stayed healthier for us. I've lost two friends on motorcycles to a driver making a sudden left turn, and another one when a driver pulled out in front of him. Rode a lot of trails and dirt bikes growing up, but I'm not a fan of motorcycles anymore. It's too easy to get killed on them.douche wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 6:28 pmIt was indeed a motorcycle accident. Only 28. So sad. Apparently a female driver made an unexpected left turn in front of him, with the driver invoking Marsy's Law to keep her identity a secret.

RIP Alex.
Cycles are dumb.
They make people dumb.
Motorists become blind to them. Dumb motorists.
Riders think they are in a fn video game bobbing and weaving through traffic. Dumb!

I get to elucidate further? What's crazy is, he turned it down, no need! That was amazing, you don't turn down free money, certainly not in the PI. Okay, so I left. This was a community outside where I live, I'd stopped for gas. This is the mountains, rural area, the boondocks. Boondocks is Tagalog. So I'm back where I live, like a 30 minute drive, actually I was at where I drink, and he walks in, had a change of heart, he could use the p500. Sure give him his p500 and something to drink. Just funny, how easy it was to find me. I couldn't hide here. Heck, he probably knew who I was when we had the accident. If not, he just had to ask...oh, the Americano, he lives in Ablayan
