Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
James Paxton should probably become a closer. I'd like to see what he's got in that role.

I don't know, Sale has turned into a Paxton. Looks like they gave up a pretty nice player. It's going to take a lot for that option to be worth bothering with.
Do the red Sox have some lousy pitching or what. What happened to the Sox? Do think we're spoiled with the kind of pitchng the Ms can roll out.

It's a shame we're not spoiled with hitters too.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 3:38 amI don't know, Sale has turned into a Paxton. Looks like they gave up a pretty nice player. It's going to take a lot for that option to be worth bothering with.

"They could make more revenue at the gate if they could put a better product on the field."
But that's the point. They don't want to make more money because it would force them to improve the product. They are perfectly happy walking around saying they own a MLB team but don't care about winning. We'd be better off without them and the team.

In Sale's last 15 starts he tossed a 3.16 ERA. I think he will be worth every penny.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 3:38 amI don't know, Sale has turned into a Paxton. Looks like they gave up a pretty nice player. It's going to take a lot for that option to be worth bothering with.

Pretty impressive, didn't know he had rebounded like that.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 4:49 amIn Sale's last 15 starts he tossed a 3.16 ERA. All I remember hearing about Sale after he came back were the temper tantrums and that he pulled down some cabinets or something, I wouldn't have guessed he'd pitched well.
Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
Well, the Braves clubhouse should be a shitshow with cabinet pulling Sale and water cooler kicking Kelenic, pitching hissy fits.

Not to mention their DH who got in trouble for domestic violence and a DUI and somehow didn't get shunned by his team and canceled in this politically correct era.
Never been a fan of the happy-clubhouse ahead of production approach.

It was my contention that he'd do better elsewhere anyway.
