I'm happy to see the offense do some better things.

Wish Julio could get it going. I guess that was JP's first elevated ball to right field off a 4-seam fastball since September of last year. Your OPS is going to struggle if you cannot pull a FB.

For the life of me I cannot believe they DFA'd Jesse Hahn in favor of keeping Bazardo.

Brash can't come soon enough. Troy Taylor got rocked in AAA so I'm pretty surprised they called him up. Otherwise, the projects like Fujinami have been a failure. Other than Legumina, it seems like Blas Castano or Sauryn Lao are really the only pitchers in Tacoma who could conceivably come in and help.

I wouldn't be surprised if they pull a couple of relievers from AA.

Yorlin Calderone has a .429 WHIP allowing just a solo shot in 7 innings. He had a 2.15 ERA in the Yankees org last year over 58.2 innings.

Matt Cronin has 7 K's and no runs allowed in 4 innings of work. Cronin had a 1.42 ERA over 44.1 innings in the Nationals org in '24. Cronin was the M's Rule 5 pick in '24 and former top 10 prospect with the Nats.

Jimmy Joyce has spun 6 innings of scoreless ball. After spinning 70 innings of 2.96 ERA ball in 2023, Joyce jumped into many of the M's top 30's... he then followed it up with a horrid '24 in AA... but he's off to a good start.

I could see the M's consider Cronin as he throws 93-97 from the left side w. a hammer curve.

Last season they DFAd Tyson Miller in favor of Bazardo. Their roster decisions are so insane much of the time.

Brash pitched an inning in Tacoma. What does he need to pitch any more down there. In these desperate times if he can pitch in AAA he can pitch in MLB.

On a team in which the manager wants to use his relievers 1 in 2 and at least 1 in 3, Idk if Brash makes sense. They're not going to be going to him 1 in 3. Likely 1 in 4 for the first month plus. Can they afford that?

I honestly think Brash should be transitioned to starter but that's me. I don't like hearing the "soggy arm" and "not bouncing back" stuff. That doesn't work for a reliever.

IIRC Mr. Brash started his career with the Mariners as a starter. And it didn't work out. Although it might be worth a shot trying it again. But initially he'll need to be limited in innings pitched.

When Kirby gets back in a couple weeks we won't need another starter. Brash wouldn't be ready for at last a month. We are desperate for relievers.
