Each offseason SB Nation hosts an offseason simulation where a representative of each team gets to play general manager.

This year whoever represented the Mariners traded Julio Rodriguez, Emerson Hancock and George Kirby for one year of Chicago Cubs third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant:

The simulated trade is perplexing because Baseball Trade Values assigns median surplus values of $5.3 million for Bryant, $73.8 million for Rodriguez, $19.4 million for Hancock and $14.7 million for Kirby.

Like Baseball Trade Values I would not trade even one of those prospects for Bryant.

The Mariner rep also non-tendered Gold Glove winner J.P. Crawford, signed Yasiel Puig and J.A. Happ to one-year, $6 million deals, traded Dylan Moore to the Cardinals for righthander Dakota Hudson, signed Jose Alvarez for a two-year, $6 million deal, Joakim Soria to a one-year, $2 million deal and declined options on Dee Strange-Gordon and Kendall Graveman.
Apparently, Somebody's Son represented the Mariners.

Wow, I guess Jack Z learned how to be a computer hacker during his undeserved retirement.

Not sure if you were around way back when but I was the only guy that advocated signing him and was roundly lambasted for it despite completely refuting and putting to rest all of the objections against it. Age, PEDs and Texas ballpark. And this is when he was 33 yo.

No, I was still lurking and monitoring the forum from behind my PC at work, just before retirement. You guys were all pretty intimidating. :D

If anyone happens to be driving a bus anywhere near the M's offices and Mallex Is crossing the street, I'll contribute to your defense fund!
