That's what I always tell people about "political" battling, it's people's addiction to outrage because they're angry and politics is the perfect outlet for them. If people wanted to truly be enlightened - turn it all off - see if you can do it for three days and on God you will see the world in an entirely different light - party affiliation makes no difference and will no longer matter to you.
The nonstop 'outrage' people are going through is not real. If they only understood that. It's all being manufactured - a few of us have figured it out and reject it. I truly wish people would try it - they would finally see that it's all false, it's all nonsense, and that we aren't that much different - you are being forced into corners and to 'pick sides' by people trying to control you - people that hate you - that's all it is. At the end of the day it's about power, control, and taking all your money.
Personally, I view the whole thing with amusement, especially considering that more than 90% of the people who really get into it don't even know the first thing they're talking about. Politics is a world that's beyond us and is completely unrelatable, and there isn't a thing we can do about any of it beyond casting our ballots. Those self-important people who are out in the streets protesting? They're idiots who haven't accomplished a damn thing except getting a couple people killed. And that part is sad, put people like that into a big herd and they become monkeys.
I'm a big George Carlin fan and that's exactly how he explains it.
