Americans are great at everything, if they aren't then it's written off as not important like soccer. It's different being a small poor country being the best at something

You think soccer is written off in the U.S. because the men's teams aren't great? It's the other way around. They aren't great because soccer is viewed here as a sport for little kids and as they grow older they turn to football and baseball. For women it is different because there is no NFL or MLB for them therefore they get better athletes involved and are competitive on the world stage.

And, frankly, black America doesn't give two shits about soccer.

The soccer debate is quite pertinent. Every soccer player in the world plays for a club and their country. It’s much rarer to win a World Cup, only 26 people every four years can be a “World Cup winner”. You get maybe 3 or 4 gos at it in a career. This is only the sixth ever WBC so the comparisons are similar.

The scarcity of the major title for your country makes it more valuable to many individuals. So when soccer players say their preference would be to win a World Cup we agree as fans also have that same desire. I would take 1 World Cup for England over 20 League or European trophies for my club team.

Problem here is the USA don’t give a shit about the WBC so neither do the fans and don’t appreciate what it means to a “small country” ( or a country that is not called America) to aim for a major title.
