Coach of the year with a QB playing like this? I can't get behind that one. Has a coach won COTY with a QB having a MVP season? Kind of a contradiction there isn't it? Carroll's coaching gaffes are well documented this season. No way.

I have to agree....and Monday night it was yet another slow start that nearly doomed us. Thank God for a sack scoop and score. Who knows what happens otherwise. I just can't help but wonder why the three and outs are so prevalent with this team. Oh, and let's be afraid because it is all about the ball? Have we ever put the ball on the ground more than we did Monday night? I would love to see us play the game like we have an actual offense and not wait until we are down a couple scores.

All fair points. I would counter with the one underlying stat that makes the most difference - they're 8-2 and no one, not even the most delusional Seahawk fan, saw 8-2 coming. After punking the 49ers in the alleged game of the century, you have to consider the coach is at least partially responsible - even if that means letting the coordinators free to do their thing. Know when to get out of the way, right?

Honestly, despite the lopsided first half officiating, even when it was 10-0, were you really worried, knowing how this team responds? If Metcalf doesn't fumble, and let's give SF props for making the play, there's a good chance they go into halftime with at least a tie if not the lead - and all the momentum. You could just feel it slipping away from SF. Seattle offense was figuring out the defense. SF had four first downs on penalties - Seattle had none. SF took the ball away four times, and still never really had any momentum after the first quarter. They only thing they got were turnovers while Seattle was driving. Props to them, but this never felt like a game SF should win - and you have to hand some of the credit to the coaching staff - cause SF's staff did not rise to the occasion.

You know the worst part about being a Seahawks fan this season is? The absolute worst? Having to go around and apologize to my neighbors after every emotionally gut wrenching and anxiety inducing game. :P

My prediction was 11-5 but I now think I was "too pessimistic" :)

I don't mean by any stretch to discount Pete, just saying coach of the year might be a stretch.

Yeah I would think Bills HC or Shanahan just due to the turnarounds.

Favre and Mike Florio like Gruden
“I don’t know what the outcome of the season will be but if I had to pick a coach of the year right now it would be Jon Gruden,” Brett Favre said Wednesday on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Some people may say I’m absolutely crazy but I think he’s done a tremendous job. I mean, think about the drama that he’s — and you just talked about not so much drama, but last year when he traded Khalil Mack and then Mack’s first game against Green Bay he just goes crazy and has a tremendous game and everyone says, ‘Is Gruden crazy?’ Trades [Amari] Cooper. Then he has the Antonio Brown fiasco at the start of the season, and all this could have just destroyed his team. I think when you look at all those things that have occurred and where they are and more importantly how they’re playing, they’re playing well and they’re responding to how he coaches. It’s just a tremendous job, it really is. I’m very impressed with what he’s done there.”
While Favre isn’t crazy to pick Gruden, there are still other viable candidates. Beyond Gruden, current favorites should include 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, Ravens coach John Harbaugh, Saints coach Sean Payton, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, and Packers coach Matt LaFleur.

Bills have gone from 6-10 to 6-3. If they can go 10-6 I think McDermot might have a shot.

Not to promote Gruden but man, that did seem like the total joke fest down there, the distractions, the Brown fiasco. But he seems to be quietly pulling together a pretty good team, i will give him that.
