I can just see Shultz as US President. He'd sell the country to China and then act shocked when they show up and start taking all our shit over there.

Seconded.

The sad thing is that I can see Coward totally doing something like that being the stupid dumbfuck that he is.

Howard is now worth $4.4 Billion. He sold the Sonics for $350MM and he bought it with 10 other investors so I would guess that he only received about half of that when he desperately sold. So he got a max of $175MM in proceeds to sell Sonics fans down the river for a guy now worth $4.4 billion. Sickening.

Stern dead: https://twitter.com/espn/status/1212482112135278597
Reading the comments about how great he is or was and I'm tempted to bring up the Sonic situation but I will refrain due to the advice of my wife.

I just have to wonder which city will show the most outpouring of grief, OKC or Sacramento?

I tried to come up with a way to share my feelings without directly slamming him. Lol I am baffled by how much love is getting though. Maybe it's just because he died but even if the sonics thing never happened I never considered him some great commissioner.

All the slimey mf'er cared about was money and power and the ego gratification that he got from all the sychophants in the media world. I saw ESPN has a piece up on the top of their website about him and they mention this...
On the night of the 2007 NBA draft lottery, David Stern sat in the temporary bleachers lining the NBA's Secaucus, New Jersey, television studios and seethed. The three finalists had been revealed for a chance to draft Greg Oden and Kevin Durant with the Nos. 1 and 2 picks: Portland, Seattle and Atlanta.

"The Pacific Northwest and the god-damn Deep South," Stern snarled in a hushed voice. "Give me a big market!"

These were words that should've never come out of a commissioner's mouth, but those sitting closest could hear them tumble out in a curdling cadence.
It's pretty clear that bastard had something against Seattle and didn't give a rat's ass about it's basketball fans. And people still think it is unimaginable that he could have effected the way the game was officiated in order to make star players into superstars.

it was business bro, Stern was truly a great and innovative businessman, the NBA as a brand taken around the world reflects it, and Stern is being honored for it, nobody gives a shit about Seattle. They comment about poor Seattle, but they don't give a shit. You think if Trump was Commish Seattle would have been treated any differently? Oh those poor fans in Seattle, let me wipe away their tears, sure, Trump would have been full of empathy, yeah right. The NBA got what they wanted, and if you are going to embrace businessmen and business, then you better be prepared to take it when it hits you in the face.
