Maybe I have a bad taste in my mouth due to the Eason debacle but perhaps that was due to the OC who is now far away.

Eason was no debacle, the coaching failure was! thought all doubt about that had been erased when Pete called it quits - this after several mystifying losses that had people in these boards openly wondering about a lack of fire from the top. From the beginning with the hiring of rookie OCs, to the shared practice reps with Haener, to the poor play-calling to the stubborn allegiance to older less-talented receivers, the 2019 staff didnt do Eason any favors. he's not Joe Montana, or Joe Burrow, but not chopped liver. Hard to imagine any other QB from last year's roster, or previous (including Yankoff and Browning) and hard to imagine them functioning any better in those circumstances. That said doubt he does much at next level unless he can somehow develop better pocket feel and mobility - good luck with that.

Wisconsin?...How about a recruit reads that Costello is interested in going there, gee, he has been a starter at Stanford, must have a big brain, maybe that the UW is a pretty good school, I think i will look into it.

There are a ton of schools -- really the vast majority of cfb -- that don't bring in transfers at the QB position. What QB recruit would want to sign with a school that just year after year brings in upperclassmen to play QB? How does that benefit the soon-to-be freshman?

three of the top four Heisman award hopefuls last season where transfers, LSU's Joe Burrow, Ohio State's Justin Fields and Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts. To me having a program guys want to transfer to is a good thing, why it wouldn't be is beyond me. If some kid is afraid that somebody might transfer there and take his job, I don't want that guy in the first place, that the UW should limit their talent pool so some kid can feel secure. It's all about a pro audition - under Leach he gets to throw a ton, and operate against high level D in the conference with by far the highest viewership. be interesting to see how he fares in that environment - think he'll have a chance in the Air Raid''s first year there, before the next year when they figure out how to defend it.
