Sherman is an all time talent. One of the best to play a defensive position in an offensive-biased league. You don't achieve greatness, especially under those circumstances, without having high level intelligence. EXACTLY. There may be different definitions of intelligence, but not one of them is whether or not somebody is a jackass. Ted Bundy and the Unibomber did some stuff I don't agree with but were highly intelligent.

Some athletes can succeed with exceptional athletic ability, but there are others that excel because they combine athleticism with intelligence. Tom Brady (who is also an ass) comes to mind. Sherman was always a cerebral player, and it was obvious.

So I asked both my parents the bat and ball question. My Dad's highest level of education was Kodiak High School in Kodiak Alaska class of 19 kids graduated in 1957. My Mom's was Mt. Vernon HS graduated in 1959. Mom has Alzheimer's. Both got it right. Both were lost on the Pond question. So I with a BA in Econ from UW, and Masters in Finance from Seattle U and make a living as a Pharma Forecaster got the opposite ones right. Pretty much proves the original point.

Fuck yeah I have an axe to grind with Sherman. I stuck up for him many times at first. Remember when he acted an idiot to Erin Andrews? Half the people I know on facebook, that don't live in WA state, were saying how idiotic that rant was. I said "you don't know him. He's just passionate, he helps school kids", blah blah blah. They were right. I was wrong.

There's is a mountain of evidence that Sherman is incapable of learning basic common sense. Common sense if a high indicator
of basic intelligence. A couple of examples that you should already know - Going straight to the sewer in an interview with a
national Sports TV personality just because you are butt hurt shows incredible stupidity. Thinking your opinion is so important
that you have a right to scream at the coaches, WHILE THE TEAM IS ON OFFENSE, shows you have no class. Being caught on
tape threating a chuckle-head local sports news guy and then saying you never said it, shows you are dumb as fuck. Another
measure of intelligence is the ability to mature, to learn from your mistakes - fairly recently KJ Wright got Sherman to go
on 710 and Sherman said Mike Salk was "excused from the conversation". This is something a little girl would do, not someone
who is "highly intelligent". FFS. Saying Sherman was one of the most intelligent Seahawks is a slap in the face to the
players on the super bowl team that actually aren't idiots.

if you don't think Sherm is smart, I question your own intelligence. He is very smart, and there are a million obvious bits of evidence to support it.

Then please list five. Other than theoretically graduating from Stanford, I can't name two.
If you watched that video from 10 years ago and thought, yeah, he's smart, then we will never agree.
If you watched any of his several melt downs on the sidelines, what was smart about that.
If you heard him threaten Jim Moore's career and then lie to the whole world that he even said what was on tape, then...
He is almost assuredly the one who threw the team under the bus with Sports Illustrated, showing not only is he a dumb
ass, he's a disloyal prick.

OK:
* salutatorian in high school with a 4.2 GPA
* voted "most likely to succeed" - which doesn't happen to somebody that people think is dumb.
* admitted to Stanford (acceptance rate of 4.3%)
* graduated from Stanford
* regularly writes articles
* was listed as one of the top 10 IQs in the NFL.
* known as a guy that breaks down film and has an elite understanding of the game.

All the negatives you list are valid, but they are not INTELLIGENCE based. He's brash, emotional, outspoken. You can like him or not, but doing things you don't like doesn't mean he isn't smart.

So, he is book smart…which many say is intelligence, no?

Again, he can be smart and quick tempered. The two are not exclusive.

book smart doesn't necessarily equal intelligence. I have known a couple 4.0 students that were complete dumbasses, incapable of independent thought, just good at regurgitating what they read.

Sherman is not that, though. Getting into Stanford is nearly impossible, graduating from Stanford also takes a lot. Dumbasses don't make it through.

Being an asshole is not an indication of intelligence one way or another.

wow. So, to be clear - Sherman 'ranting' at erin andrews makes him dumb - because you were sticking up for him on FACEBOOK and were disappointed. Making mistakes, or anything you disagree with, means he is dumb. So, what does that say about you? You're either dumb, or have never made any mistakes - right? I fully admit I'm dumb, well, at the very least, my intelligence obviously pales in comparison to yours. Not to mention he literally switched positions from receiver to DB and became one of the all time greats. Always seems the people that know the least have huge opinions about everyone else. Sherman graduated with a 4.2 and earned honors for his grades. but that doesn't count - he yelled at erin andrews after making arguably the biggest defensive play in team history - so he's dumb. #logic
