If Garver makes the team (shivers) I hope he doesn’t play as much as last year. Then there are teams that carry 3 C due to DH.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Feb 19, 2026 1:28 amInteresting, I have been tempted to predict that. I believe theres a clause in Knizners contract that he can be sent down. That he was signed with the possibility of being used for depth. I'd like to know if that's true or not. Interesting too garver on a minor league deal. Between the two of them I think I would go with garverCoeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Thu Feb 19, 2026 12:57 amhttps://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/02/ ... -deal.html

Somethings going on here, does Knizner really deserve a ML contract over Garver? I don't want to bother debating their relative value but still. Did they offer Mitch the Knizner contract and he turned it down thinking he could do better?

Must have been the case....Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Feb 19, 2026 10:25 amSomethings going on here, does Knizner really deserve a ML contract over Garver? Yes, that makes sense. I'm ok with Garver as backup, but I don't want to see him at DH unless his OPS hits .800.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Feb 19, 2026 5:56 pmMust have been the case....Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Feb 19, 2026 10:25 amSomethings going on here, does Knizner really deserve a ML contract over Garver? I don't think Dan Wilson has any desire to use Knizer at DH. That's the only reason I'd prefer him.

I think Wilson be as likely to use Knizer at DH as garver if Knizner is the only right hander he has available. It's not going to be about ops, it's going to be about handedness

Im trying to envision a lineup with Refsnyder in the outfield and garver at DH. You can already field a right handed outfield with Julio, Robles, and Arozarena. If you wanted to get garvers bat in the lineup I'm not sure how you do it. Besides I think they go with Knizner anyway
