The Mariners are definitely badly underachieving so far and thankfully it's a 162-game season so things should work themselves out, but the Kraken are not underachievers. They're just not very good. McCann is somewhat close to being an All-Star player and hopefully McMann is for real, but the rest of the roster is a bunch of third- and fourth-line talent, with a few guys who are good enough to crack other mediocre teams' second lines. The thing about Beniers and Wright is that they've never put up big stats, at least Beniers didn't in college. It appears that Ron Francis just overestimated his and Wright's talent.
