I want an Ace but I think you quickly regret that contract. He hasnt been that good for long and attitude could be a problem if he isnt happy IMO

Bauer should be worth every dollar....Just convinced Jerry’s not remotely interested and Jerry should try to improve this year, There’s no guarantee that the bidding will be crazy once baseball fills stadiums again. At the very least I would be all in on Sugano and a dynamite OF

His yearly dollar total might not be that appealing but at least he's only asking for a 5-6 year deal and not a 10 year deal trying to set a new total record for salary.

People were hoping for only a 1-2 year deal at a high $35-40M/yr. No way would I give a 5-6 deal with that kind of money to a SP that only has 2 out of 7 full seasons with an ERA under 4.Heyman reported Tuesday the 29-year-old Cy Young winner is seeking a five-or-six-year deal for between $36 million and $40 million a season, which would tie or break Gerrit Cole’s MLB record $36 million in average annual value. Heyman also wrote that Bauer’s agent, Rachel Luba, declined comment.
Bauer, whom the Mets are in the hunt for, mocked Heyman over the report.
“Jon thank god for you. I’m learning so much about my free agency from your tweets! Keep em coming! Also @AgentRachelLuba is her twitter tag in case you want to tag her next time.”

A year ago ZiPS projected Marco Gonzales, Yusei Kikuchi and Justus Sheffield to combine for 4.9 fWAR in 89 appearances, including 85 starts:D-train wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 11:16 pmThat was both in excellent and profoundly disturbing read. Based on Bauers reaction to the reporting of his contract details, the ask probably IS $35-$40 million, whoever offers the most years wins.BaseHitDerby wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 8:22 pmPeople were hoping for only a 1-2 year deal at a high $35-40M/yr. Otherwise he can do the $30M over 5 years like any good pitcher. He's too old to give that contract imo.

Yeah I think a lot of those projections are absurdly low.harmony wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:24 amA year ago ZiPS projected Marco Gonzales, Yusei Kikuchi and Justus Sheffield to combine for 4.9 fWAR in 89 appearances, including 85 starts:D-train wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 11:16 pmThat was both in excellent and profoundly disturbing read. Well if he wants it blacker, he better get his OPS over .700.harmony wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 5:14 pmTaylor Trammell was interviewed on a podcast this week:

The recent obsession with race is mind boggling to me. What ever happened to "judge not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character/WAR."
