KJ Costello?
KJ Costello?
just entered the transfer portal immediately eligible for his 5th year graduate senior season. If Eason exits, why not take the next 1-year rental rather than serving up an untested rookie to the Wolverines game 1? had garnered a lot of attention before the early season injury, and another good fit as a strong-armed accurate thrower, but not quite the statue that Eason is. plus how fun would it be to win with your rival's defector!
Re: KJ Costello?
K.J. should go for the NFL instead of another collegiate program. He could be starting in Las Vegas by mid-season...
Re: KJ Costello?
I'll pass on another transfer. Last one didn't work out too well. Go with one our boys.

Re: KJ Costello?
you may well be right, but likely feels the need to boost his stock after his big senior season was lost to injury. may still do that, but then why bother entering the portal?
Re: KJ Costello?
so you think they'd have done better with Haener, Sirmon, or Yankoff? suppose it's possible, but i think the bulk of the problem THIS year was the rest of the cast, and yes I'll say it, the coaching staff, mainly at the top. I'm super grateful for Pete - rooting for Dawgs to win the CP bowl tonight, best coach here since the Dawgfather, but agree with Jon Wilner in giving him a D grade for 2019.

Yeah we might have beat 4-8 Stanford with one of those 3.57reasons wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 6:28 pmso you think they'd have done better with Haener, Sirmon, or Yankoff? suppose it's possible, but i think the bulk of the problem THIS year was the rest of the cast, and yes I'll say it, the coaching staff, mainly at the top. I just saw CPs top 10 moments in the Times. Remember when we scored 70 points in Eugene? Seems like 100 years ago. This season we scored 55 points vs. Colorado, Cal, Stanford and Oregon st.............COMBINED!

Re: KJ Costello?
With Heaney this was a five win team....we’d have lost to BYU and USC.
Eason wasn’t a graduate transfer. Taking two years off hurt him, IMO, almost as much as the terrible coaching. I read that article by Wilner, and I too agree with the D grade. Seems Pete agree also..,that’s why he is stepping down.

Damn, I don't even want to know how record would have been had Haener been the starter.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 8:31 pmWith Heaney this was a five win team....we’d have lost to BYU and USC.

Make that three who agree with Wilner's D grade. Can't expect a good grade when you lose games that you're favored by double digits.
Re: KJ Costello?
So usually coaches leave due to a disappointing season. Seems we had a disappointing season because he wanted to leave after last season.

Re: KJ Costello?
I also never thought KJ Costello was really all that good.
Furd QB's get this "well aren't they all like Andrew Luck" treatment.
Didn't he throw 3 picks against the Dawgs in 2018?
Long, loopy arm motion, decent mobility, makes interesting decisions when the pocket gets dirty from what I remember.
