I like the Parkinson pick. Trending nicely and more upside than Dissly.

Parkinson will never be anything more than a 3rd string fill in. His upside is Willson-esque. It's pretty damn easy to trend up when your career was 5 catches for 30 yards.

I've been on the McIntosh and Mafe train before they were even drafted (search my posts about them), though, so I'm down with those predictions. Calling Olu a pro bowler is a real stretch, though. Center is a tough position to make the pro bowl, and I would be shocked if he beats out Brown. In fact, I list Brown as one of MY five possible surprises.

Can't do much if he isn't utilized.

Parkinson is big, and he's young. Lots of upside. If he can gain Carroll's trust, he could end up becoming a real weapon.

I saw Parkinson play a couple time up on the Farm and he was virtually unstoppable. I was really stoked when Seattle took him - he was a matchup nightmare for defenses as he was faster and more athletic than most LB's and can overwhelm secondary's with his size and strength. He was second team all PAC 10 - dude was no joke in college.

▲ G Rec Yds Avg TD Att Yds Avg TD Plays Yds.Avg TD
2019 Stanford Pac-12 JR TE 12 48 589 12.3 1 1
*2018 Stanford Pac-12 SO TE 13 29 485 16.7 7 7
*2017 Stanford Pac-12 FR TE 6 10 97 9.7 4 4

Seattle has an underrated tight end group - they simply do not get utilized enough - until last season. Do the math - with a pocket passing QB Parkinson goes from 7 catches in two years under Mr. Unlimited, to 25 in ONE year with Geno - expect that trend to continue up. The tight end group does not lack talent - I think they are as formidable as any group in the league - they simply were not used by Russ - for whatever reason. Ask Jimmy Graham - under Wilson we simply did not use that position group enough. It's not Carroll and it's not the OC's. Having two athletic 6'7 tight ends is a luxury few teams have. Seattle has almost too many options now.

I was also a fan of Colby coming out of college, but calling him "athletic" or "fast" by NFL standards doesnt hold water. What he is though is the sure-handed big target, that's what made him such a mismatch at Stanford, and even in the pros if schemed and used correctly. Definitely more upside than Willson but he'll never be a Gronk, Kelce, Gonzalez or Sharpe. I'd say a ceiling more like Jason Witten or Greg Olsen (and wouldn't that be nice).

It's because RW wouldn't utilize the middle of the field isn't it? That's where you throw to a TE isn't it

What a coincidence regarding Brown.
Sure, there's an heir apparent at center for the Seahawks, but don't count out the veteran
Surprise season No. 1: Seahawks center Evan Brown

Parkinson was tied for 40th for TEs in receptions. Given 32 teams that puts him in the top 10 for #2 TEs. And was he prob won't increase another 5x going from 5 to 25 to 125 this season, I could see him with high 30s which would get him into the low end of the #1 TE territory. I also like the fact he NEVER dropped a pass in his Pro career.

Seattle has an underrated tight end group - they simply do not get utilized enough - until last season.

What was weird was that they suddenly seemed to forget about their tight ends somewhere later in the season -- when we started losing some winnable games. The offense clicked much better when they were involved.

Defenses may have been scheming better against Seattle the second half of the season - especially division rivals - they can identify tendancies better as there is more tape avail on Geno and the offense. Plus, a lot of young guns on the team - not surprising they faded a bit down the stretch. With the addition of Jackson-Smith it'll be interesting to see how passes are distributed with defenses having to key on three very formidable WRs. If this offense can play anywhere near thier potential, they could be one of the highest scoring units in the league. Be crazy to see PC's 2.0 version of a championship roster being built the exact opposite of the first edition - going from the ultimate defense and an above average offense - to an insane offense and an above average defense. This offense is legit stacked - and so much depth in the backfield. Now we just pray against injuries.
