If we changed our approach to how we develop hitters from pure power to gap to gap would it make a difference. Is that coaching or is it on the player. Could Cal & Julio be more gap to gap with a different approach?

This is what I am advocating. Joking about Hunter taking on 3 roles. He could promote his #2 in amateur scouting to Head of amateur scouting.....

As for his recent success, a Good GM would have a 6 year playoff run from 2021-26. He will be 2 of 6 if we miss again this season.

Z was director of scouting for the Brewers.

Zduriencik was so successful in Milwaukee that many observers felt that he deserved a large part of the credit for the Brewers' eventual return to playoff contention in 2008. Brewers general manager Doug Melvin praised Zduriencik's efforts: "No doubt about it, he deserves almost all the credit for the young players we have. The players he has drafted are making an impact at the big league level."

In recognition of his success with the Brewers, Baseball America made Zduriencik the first non-GM to receive their Major League Executive of the Year Award in 2007.

I think Zdruencik did a lot better than he's given credit for personally.

A) I don't care about the farm system
B) Dipoto traded all Z's farm guys that were actually decent. Chris Taylor, Ketel Marte, Tyler O'Neill, Pablo Lopez, Freddy Peralta, Ryan Yarbrough...

Not to mention trading away Mark Trumbo who went on to hit almost 50 HR's for the Orioles and the catcher he got in return was ran out of town (even though he was right in what he said- the rioters were acting like animals).

Add those guys to Nelson Cruz, Edwin Diaz and everything lied squarely on Dipoto's dumbass.

The team played down the year Z got fired, but all his guys played great the following year.

It was Dipoto's bums that dragged that team down and forced the "step back", yet Dipoto got credit for the team rebound even though HIS guys sucked ass.

2015 (Z's last year, down years for his players, Z took the blame):

2016 (Z's players played amazing, Trumbo got traded and went on to be amazing for the Orioles, but Dipoto's guys sucked, and he got GM of the year or whatever all on Z's back):

If Z got one more season I think his legacy would look completely different right now. That 2016 team with Trumbo at 1B instead of Lee/Lind would have been great imo. They just had a down year in 2015 and got Z fired.

Look at everyone's favorite punching bag Kyle Seager! His last year here this place was like a hunting ground for Seager hate. I've never understood it.
