I don't really understand why Jerry or anyone in charge would hire someone who would tell him "no, we are going to do things my way".

Any hiring in any job anywhere for someone that is going to be for a subordinate means that new hire has to do the best he can under the the constraints that are placed upon him.

If Jerry consistently went out and spent 10 million dollars over the budget given to him he would soon be out of s job. The same with any manager that told Jerry to F off, he would soon be out of a job and no one else would hire him.

So I wouldn't expect anyone who isn't at least some kind of a yes man to even get hired let alone have a job very long in any business.

We can only hope that this hire is a good one and wait and see. No point in me getting too worked up before I see what this guy does and how he handles the team.

It is one hell of a good opportunity for him. More will be revealed later.

Just watched the press conference. Jerry literally closed it out by telling Kanzler how to button his Jersey. Priceless.

Lot of Beating around the bush and not answering questions directly. The reporters tried to nail him down on what his style is as a manager and he basically doesn't have one. Said that the team identity develops organically and he's not going to implement a sweeping philosophy on how to hit.

So basically he's not going to try to be a leader. He is going to cater to the players. Not impressed by this dude at all.

I personally believe that Jerry is setting the lineup daily. All the platoon garbage is a directive straight from him. I also believe he is micromanaging The pitching staff and literally telling the manager which pitchers he can use on a given day. I absolutely guarantee you that the whole 6 man rotation came directly from him. To me a Yes man is someone who is going to let Jerry continue to meddle in the on field decision making without giving any push back. That is exactly what they got. Someone with no track record to give him clout in the decision making process. They didn't even let the dude pick his own assistant coaches. Jerry is the puppet master Kanzler is a yes man and anyone who doesn't see that is obtuse.

All that shit is miniscule. Raleigh didn't hit. Munoz blew saves. Brash got injured. Miller sucked. Donavan never played.
