Sure, we don't know. What we DO know is that having guys around that Jerry can force into making decisions has resulted in two playoff appearances in a decade. For the only organization that has never reached a World Series to just continue to double down on a bullshit strategy that doesn't work is fucked up.

I don't really understand why Jerry or anyone in charge would hire someone who would tell him "no, we are going to do things my way".
Any hiring in any job anywhere for someone that is going to be for a subordinate means that new hire has to do the best he can under the the constraints that are placed upon him.
If Jerry consistently went out and spent 10 million dollars over the budget given to him he would soon be out of s job. The same with any manager that told Jerry to F off, he would soon be out of a job and no one else would hire him.
So I wouldn't expect anyone who isn't at least some kind of a yes man to even get hired let alone have a job very long in any business.
We can only hope that this hire is a good one and wait and see. No point in me getting too worked up before I see what this guy does and how he handles the team.
It is one hell of a good opportunity for him. More will be revealed later.

Just watched the press conference. Jerry literally closed it out by telling Kanzler how to button his Jersey. Priceless. 
Lot of Beating around the bush and not answering questions directly. The reporters tried to nail him down on what his style is as a manager and he basically doesn't have one. Said that the team identity develops organically and he's not going to implement a sweeping philosophy on how to hit.
So basically he's not going to try to be a leader. He is going to cater to the players. Not impressed by this dude at all.
