I like all the kids we got.
It was a great haul.

Will make trading from our minor league depth the next year to fill a hole or two on the major league roster more palatable.

Brad Adam looks like he's vaselined up for a boxing match tonight in the postgame.

Looks like a turkey fresh out of the oven with that tight, shiny skin.

Question is, will it be rushig any of these kids to pitch them next year. I think the are a few that will probably be ready, but most are probably mid 2020 or later.

Now it does give opportunities to Chrismat, McGaughan, Miesewicz, but they are all pretty fringy. Gilbert, Dunn, Sanchez are all a few years away. Sheffield probably sold have taken Milones spot in the rotation to start next season
I suspect some of them will be depth in the minors. The M's transitioned McClain to the pen, they could do that with some of the other pitchers.

Dunn will be up this year. Gilbert is an unknown, he could be up at the end of next season, or a few weeks into 2021 to gain another year.

I'm more concerned about next season. I wouldn't pencil in Dunn to be in the rotation from day 1. I know he will probably pitch some for the Mariners this year, bit would expect him to start out in Tacoma the first few months

Effing ownership!!!!
Dipoto says Caballero was the guy they were discussing with Arizona back in May when ownership nixed the deal.
Divish states that deal was the Mariners sending $10M to the DBacks and that ownership nixed it either for financial reasons or timing reasons. And considering that the Mariners ate over double that in money today, I’m guessing it was the latter reason.

Worked out in the end I guess
Read in to this what you will, personally I find it quite unsavoury how management have now more than once briefed against players to the press. Also noted how this is the second "fiery competitor" to fall out with the management.
Leake has lived with the possibility of being traded all season after the team tried to move him in the offseason. With the team in rebuild mode and looking to remove guaranteed Major League contracts, he seemed like a logical candidate. His relationship with manager Scott Servais and the coaching staff was icy at best. A fiery competitor, Leake hated being removed from games prematurely. On one occasion last season, he handed the ball to catcher Mike Zunino instead of Servais, who came to remove him — something that’s a considered an insult.

There was also some frustration after a start on May 26 in Oakland. With Servais having already been ejected, Leake was irritated when bench coach Manny Acta came to the mound to remove him from the game. He gave Acta a shoulder bump as he left the mound, which angered Acta, Servais and the Mariners front office. Leake later made comments about the direction of the team and stepback plan following the game and the following Monday in Seattle. Shortly after talking with the Times, the Mariners brought Leake into a meeting with Servais, Acta and general manager Jerry Dipoto. It got a little contentious.

If there was any lingering hesitation about trading Leake, it was gone with that meeting.

So didn't want the idiot fan base to think they weren't still fighting for the playoffs. lol Same ole ownership. And surprise surprise, looks like SS is respected about as much as the sunflower seed shells on the floor of the dugout.

These fucking dolts wasted $10 million for 2 months of a mediocre starting pitcher, all to maintain some appearance of something, who knows what, in a season where wins are meaningless - even detrimental to their long-term goals. Sorry, but this team will never win anything under this ownership.

Thankfully its a pretty easy job so far. I have probably only deleted about 100 spam posts in about 3 months so far. Thanks though.

No possible defense for this ownership. If by some miracle we win something it will obviously be in spite of them.
