There's tons of rural living opportunities if you don't want to be crowded like in a city.Moe Gibbs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 4:40 pmWhat contributes to the problem are the FUTURE FELON FACTORY WELFARE QUEENS that the poor taxpayers are forced to sponsor. They poop out more babies than they would have any hope of supporting on their own.
Our birth rate IS trending downward and so in 100 years I hope we might be able to return what our population was in the 1950s.
BTW..the "astounding amount of open space" that's left in the USA is mostly harsh, unliveable, hard to develop, or else government land. All the "best kept secret areas" were gobbled up years ago.
What contributes to overcrowding is not birthrates, it's an influx of people. Detroit is not crowded. Birthrates are higher in rural areas. (lower cost of living, more hands for the farm)
Population will most likely increase for a few more decades and then level off. Or maybe the coronavirus will kill us all.
Some infrastructure is way better to handle the density. Take for example the red and green lights in parking lots to tell you which spots are open. Small thing, big impact. Same thing with high speed rail. Get some damn cars off the highway.
We all know what overpopulation really looks like, though:
