Actually, i once deep fried some chicken in valvoline synthetic and it seemed to work pretty well.
I hope you added some red dye #5 too.
I'd recommend trying it with a whipped margarine artificial flavor BBQ sauce. Don't smother it; just the right amount.

It's one thing to say it, another to act upon it. You can't force companies to do anything. Taking dyes out does nothing. It's still sugar. Read your labels people. Most people don't because most people don't care. Also start switching to Ghee Butter & Beef Tallow. You'll be told no but don't listen to what they tell you. Just quit buying crap & you'll be fine. What about no mention of chemtrails or am I just crazy. Have you seen how Trump eats. McD & DIet Coke really. Does he seriously not care. Good lord. Whole Foods or no foods.

Good point about sugar. Ironically, there is a web of government programs - price supports, quotas, and tariffs - that support the U.S. sugar industry. I certainly don't see any national interest in *these* tariffs. It's purely supporting a relatively few quite wealthy producers.

what? taking dyes out does nothing? DO you understand what they are made of? Literally toxic chemicals and sludge. How is taking toxic chemicals out of the food supply "doing nothing?" That makes zero sense on any level. Dyes are not sugar based. And pure cane sugar is not the problem it's the high fructose corn syrup based sugars and maltodextrin nonsense that are killing everyone.

Good points. I still think pure can sugar should not be consumed at anywhere near the levels that most of us ingest it, but I agree that the processed stuff is worse. What do you think of coconut sugar?

What I know (which, admittedly, isn't much) is that coconut sugar contains small amounts of minerals, antioxidants and fiber. But the high sugar content dwarfs any potential benefits.

That said, dyes in food can be natural, but as aurora mentioned many aren't and are comprised of petroleum. The old saying, 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is' could be applied to food, albeit worded slightly differently... 'If it looks too good to be true, it probably is'. Color additives can contain many poisonous materials. But the bright colors are what grab peoples' attention and they know it.

Personally, I feel that the entire world is one big circle jerk. I'm not saying anything new here, but these industries are all in bed with one another. The food companies cut corners and use fillers to save money and make more profit which, in turn, makes people sick. Then big pharma comes along with 'a pill for that'. And they get their cut. And the cycle continues. All at the expense of the everyday consumer. It's disgusting.

So although gil's idea of MAHA is a noble one, nobody is going to make America healthy again. There's too much profit to be made by keeping people sick and drugged.

Also tied into that is the notion of convenience. Cook dinner? Nah, grab a burger and fries (or any other myriad of fast food variations).
It's convenient, and convenience can make people lazy. Sedentary living is a recipe for disaster.

Turns out my antipasto contains canola oil rather than olive. However, according to this it is reasonably healthy, maybe because it isn't derived from a seed?

People make excuses for everything. Laziness is definitely hereditary. People don't do research. Even with the clean oils you still have to do your research. Sugar is an addiction that's for sure. It's a process I know that. I swear sometimes I think quitting smoking is easier then cutting sugar.
