NBA playoffs

Post by Michael K. » Thu May 20, 2021 6:17 pm

After watching about half of the fourth quarter of the Lakers win (puke) last night I am left with two questions. How many points will the refs score for Lebron and the Lake Show next game, and will Lebron need a patch on his eye for the rest of the playoffs from that "horrible" incident last night?

Full disclosure, I am a Curry fan, and have hated Bron Bron since he "took his talents to Miami", and everything he has done every day since has only reinforced my hatred for that selfish ass hat. But come on, what I saw of that game was terrible last night.

I would rather watch 10 hours of the Shopping Network's Tupperware marathon than half a quarter of the NBA. Lebron is one of the biggest POSs on the planet.

The playoffs intrigue me some. I mostly just flip through, and try to watch the end, if anything But I will watch just about any sport if I am rooting against someone. I watch the playoffs hoping to see Lebron suffer. He is a giant shit bag. Add in that I like Curry? And the other night was insufferable. I don't know if you watched the last play, it was not a foul....but if Lebron was trying to get open for a tieing three and the Warriors bumped him the way the Lakers bumped Curry? It is a foul...Hell, they probably would have said he was shooting and awarded him three free throws. If he missed one he would have blamed his vision.

It is almost WWE like when watching what Lebron and the Lakers can do as opposed to their opponent. Jeff Van Gundy is obviously in agreement...listening to him question the officiating was rather comical. On the Golden State end a guy got HAMMERED going in for a layin. Van Gundy looks at Jackson and says "how is that not a foul?" Not long later a foul is called at the other end only for Van Gundy to say "did he even touch him?" The answer from Jackson was basically that he wasn't sure. It is a joke. I feel bad for the 2 seed that has to play the now 7th seeded Lakers. Gonna have to beat Lebron, the Lakers and the refs.

At one point my wife says "how was that called?" My response was "Lebron would scream racism if not."

You are looking at this all wrong. If you're the NBA, you need to push your biggest star, LeBron. He's also in a larger market. Also, they can push the "Oh my God, the Lakers were left for dead and now LeBron is dragging them to the finals' dramatic narrative - it's fucking theater, dude. It's about marketing and TV numbers - NOT basketball. NBA numbers have cratered - you think they want the smaller market warriors over LeBron? They HAVE to have LeBron for at least a series or two for marketing purposes. He's their 'crown jewel'. It's WWE - just like the NFL. These leagues lost there way a long time ago - why do you think so many fans have walked away? They need an east coat vs west coast matchup. NY v LA. It'll likely be the Nets v Lakers - I don't even watch - but I know what my strategy would be if I was running the floundering NBA - ensure your largest market matchups and then hype the shit out of LeBron v Durant. Duh.

I guess I just feel most fans are smarter than that.

40 years of incredible success and popularity of the WWE tells me otherwise.....

Doesn't the NBA make more money in China than the U.S. now anyway? Which fans do they care more about? Just wait 'til some Chinese corporation buys the NBA, then the fans here will be irrelevant.

Haha, but everyone knows that is fake. Only a few of us really smart people know the NBA is fake.
