Re: In Memoriam Seattle Times Mariners Forum
My fasvorite times were meeting forum guy. at Sheri's on Union Ave for breakfast on a few Saturdays and Sundays before heading for Cheney to watch the prospects. We had fun with Dtrain, Mikey, Halfmoon, Leadoff, Jim Freeman, Tbear and others scouting out Ackley, Carp, Hallman, Pineda, and others....We have driven miles to meet... Joe Shabotnik, Mikey, Jay, and Oso. I remember the night Pineda struck out 11 at Cheney, Jack Z had an entourage with him watching the game, while Chone Figgins was getting into a fight in Seattle in the dugout. When Jack Z got back to Seattle all hell broke loose. Oso Dorado and Leadoff hosted the first forum parties, I held a crab fest in Auburn, and then Dtrain took the parties to a new level. Also enjoyed the M's games, the lunches with guys like Gary Lemons and Kevin Findlay at the Pyramid, before the games, the spring training trips (most of all), and the game threads. My vote for funniest post of all time goes to Jack Merridew for his Brett Favre post....(greatest of all time, etc... when players wore animal skins around their heads). The game threads used to be bitchin' (when we had a chance to win once in a while) and guys like Tony Rutabega got all jacked up in some comeback or whatever. It was a good ride.....and the reward has been meeting guys like Phillip (LIncoln 22), Rocky, and Maoling, great people... and developing close, valuable relationships with some extremely talented, decent, and remarkable blokes.... Darren, Jay, and Jim.....

Well said my friend. I concur wholeheartedly. Who knew an initially anonymous forum would lead me to such great friends. Some of the very best I have ever had.AT Fresno wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 4:37 pmMy fasvorite times were meeting forum guy. at Sheri's on Union Ave for breakfast on a few Saturdays and Sundays before heading for Cheney to watch the prospects. Noticed the Times new whatever the hell it is is now being overrun by spam.

The "comment section"? I still haven't figured out how to find it since there is no direct link to anything fitting that description on their website. I think I stumbled into it one time after opening up one of their articles. So, I just tried opening up some Seahawks articles but no luck. Perhaps they took it down if it was being hit with spam like you say.

Hilarious, almost all spam, other than your Marinertalk.com post and an inane post by RG that they should fire JD now despite the rebuild going well.

Glad to finally find out where everyone ran off too, I thought it was just me having issues with the Seattle Times site.
