UW Football Game 1, verses Montana

Starting to look like a Montana victory may be in the works.

Unbelievable. The biggest issue now is he can't make a QB move. If he does, and Huard wins? End of season for Morris. If he benches him and we lose? Still can't go back to Morris.

Why is that an Issue? They aren't beating anyone in the Pac 12 with Morris anyway so you might as well see what Huards got.

Don't know how an AD can hire a disaster of a Basketball coach and a disaster of a football coach and keep their job. But this is Seattle so those making the decision are probably just super stoked about the women's volleyball, softball and crew.

So let me get this straight: we have the #1 high school QB in the nation. Jimmy Lake elects to start a guy that nobody thinks is particularly good. That guy plays one of the worst games in school history and Lake just...stands there?

ok, i will say that for some unexplained reason (Covid?) we were down 3 of our top 4 WRs, and opponent smartly picked up on that, as well as the fact that we have the WORST player at QB for a power 5 team that i have seen in a very long time. Even his completions were inaccurate - costing badly needed YAC because the receiver had to dive for it. The 3 picks were all horrible throws - not bad decision-making, just plain inaccurate throws. if you are not a gifted athlete or cannon arm you HAVE to be an accurate passer or what are you doing there?
all i can hope is that maybe the missing receivers were better and helped camouflage his weakness, but there is no other explanation, and absolutely no way they can trot him out there again in Ann Arbor with a straight face.
oh, did i mention Dylan Morris sucks at football?
Haener at Fresno (almost beat the Ducks) and the Montana QB both looked light years better than Morris.

The sad thing is we shouldn't have even needed Morris to win this game. We are frickin UW who historically runs the ball down peoples throats. We should have been able to hand the ball off 40 times in this game and score 4 TD's. Instead our crap O-line couldn't generate any push against a bunch of underweight D-2 rejects. We are going to lose by 4 scores next week.

We should have been able to hand the ball off 40 times in this game and score 4 TD's. Instead our crap O-line couldn't generate any push against a bunch of underweight D-2 rejects. We are going to lose by 4 scores next week.

It took Montana one drive to realize that we wouldn't and couldn't go down field....so they stacked the box. I don't care if it is Michigan or Montana....if there are 8 and 9 in the box? It's hard to throw, and if you have a QB that won't check out cuz he is scared?

Just hard for me to blame the run game when it is painfully obvious we have ZERO ability to throw. Not sure about missing 3 of 4 top receivers. The two transfers played, Davis played, what 3 where missing?

Our running backs got 70 yards in a game that was within 1 score the entire way. Its Frickin Montana. I don't care if they put 11 in the box. We should have the athletic superiority to just physically push them 4 yards down the field. Instead we got dominated on the line of scrimmage.

Can't disagree Cap., but we should also have a QB that can beat Montana when they load the box.

Personally? I think Lake is a bust and he hasn't recruited well since being the man. Seem CP did a better job with OKGs than Lake does.
