Great game tonight
Loved watching Murphy doing the cartwheel and Seager looking like the player he was a few years ago is refreshing. How long until Haniger returns, I see hes playing tonight in Modesto. The reason I'm asking is Broxton needs to go away... As much as Bpj hates Mallex I hate Broxton.. 0 for 12 with 10 strikeouts!!! Yikes even Dave Valle in his God awful year wasn't that bad!!!

Yep, the game is supposed to be fun and that's what tonight was. Hell, I'd like to see our guys doing that when they're down ten runs just to piss off the other team.
Re: Great game tonight
Great, then DavidTee24 would show up on the Tigers message board calling for the Tigers to "give the next batter a dirt bath" right Meat?
Actually, for once I would agree with you, Murphy's the one guy who actually deserves a chin buzzer for his bush league bullshit in the dugout.

Re: Great game tonight
Broxton put up a slash line of .179/ .281 /.410/ .691 last year in Milwaukee, and accrued 1.6 bWAR in 89 plate appearances, that seems pretty remarkable
Re: Great game tonight
No surprise about Broxton getting positive WAR. Most of his games were in CF where you just need a pulse to stack WAR.
That .691 OPS is mostly from center field with better defense than Mallex. Even Mallex can stay in + WAR in CF.
That's saying something.
Santana and Haniger are the only two outfielders at the MLB level that deserve to be on the team. The rest are just roster fodder in a lost season at this point.
The only one we really have to worry the Mariners wasting more time next season is Mallex, imo. Which is why I harp on it. The rest are easy to dfa.

Re: Great game tonight
its the 89 plate appearances, that is like 22 games...1.6 WAR? That extrapolates to like almost 12 WAR over a season, had a shit load of circus catches come is way?
Re: Great game tonight
He had 1.1 fWAR but yeah still crazy. He was #1 in baseball with an astronomical UZR150Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 1:02 pmits the 89 plate appearances, that is like 22 games...1.6 WAR? That extrapolates to like almost 12 WAR over a season, had a shit load of circus catches come is way?

Re: Great game tonight
was thinking maybe he was being used as a pinch runner, and he did score twenty runs so there is that

Nah, the Mariners fall under the Oppressed Franchise Exemption so it's okay. If anything it would be great to see some Legion Of Boom swagger. After home runs do choreographed things like the Hawk receivers do. But do it mainly against teams like the Angels and Yankees and such, the Tigers are suffering enough as it is.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 7:52 amGreat, then DavidTee24 would show up on the Tigers message board calling for the Tigers to "give the next batter a dirt bath" right Meat?

Re: Great game tonight
Runs have no impact on WAR. Bsr does but it is minimal. Guessing about 0.1 or 0.2 of the 1.1.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 6:19 pmwas thinking maybe he was being used as a pinch runner, and he did score twenty runs so there is that
