Petersen doesn't call the plays. Hamdan and Lake did a terrible job preparing the team for yesterday's game.
And i'm pretty sure Michael K didn't like the hire based on this remark in the same thread...

Jimmy Lake is a blow hard! Figure out how to play defense against a team that plays an offense not the Air Raid. For all the shit Jimmy talks about Mike Leach, David Shaw should have gone OFF about how his band of misfits dissected Jimmy’s Big ass mouth last night! But, most coaches don’t do that...Jimmy does. Jimmy loves him some him, and that is all fine and good, but two Bay Area coaches so far this year have made him look stupid. Those Bowl losses being prefaced? Our great defenses got dissected by QBs not even taking NFL snaps. Hell, Alabama got rid of the QB who beat us the next year!

I want nothing to do with that effing mouthpiece as our head coach. He is all freaking talk. Our defenses were better under Kwitkowski, but Pete didn’t feel the need to tell us about it! Jimmy is a fantastic recruiter...but so was Tosh Lapoi. We got over losing him, and we will get over losing mouthpiece Lake. I have a little faith in Jimmy, but less than zero in the man named Bush

Jon Wilner predicts that Justin Wilcox will be the next head coach
YES PLEASE !!! He should be the top target, just has to suffer through a few more games with Chase Garbers at the helm first. pretty amazed how much he got out of the lesser talent level they had - particular coaching up the D.

and bring back Jeff Tedford to reprise his advisor role if not be the OC, and ask coach K to reclaim his rightful DC job.

I have to be honest though. When CP quite, I like them hiring Lake. I felt like it was the best move, keep some consistency, keep the guy that is supposed to be a great recruiter, and I even said it then, it opens the door for Kwiatkowski to move back to DC.

There hasn't been much to like about the hire ever since. The run the damn ball hate was stupid and his comments about Oregon was worse. His two biggest hires were terrible and he chased off Kwiatkowski and every good receiver we had.

I was hard on him after our collapses last year against power run teams and was hard on him about his choice at QB. That choice at QB extended to this year, and I just don't get it. Sorry, the kid can't play QB in the Pac 12, and the only guys that can't see that make the decisions here!

So, I have to out myself...I liked the move, in January of 2019. The shine quickly wore off with me. I HATE coaches that act as though they win and the players lose. Him thumping his chest about all his NFL DBs and all the Air Raid offenses was bad enough. But blaming the O Line and Wrs for a lose to Montana in what was possible the worst offensive game plan I have ever seen? My view went from skeptical to very doubtful. Then he doubles down each week by backing the worst QB in the Conference?

I tell everyone that will listen. When I watched the QBs warm up before the UCLA game I said to my wife. "Well, at least Morris doesn't have the 4th best arm." The I realized I had the jersey numbers mixed up. The walk on kid from Wenatchee? Has a better arm. He has the 4th best arm on his own team. Watching the easy throws he missed that day? Seeing it live? Wow. Jimmy is either stupid or is taking $ from Oregon to ruin this program.
