I watched the video you provided. JJ Watt is visible on almost every play. JJ Watt is considered one of the
best DLs in the league. Some people might consider the presence of JJ Watt a big factor in the success
of Clowney in 2018 for the Texans. Do the 2019 Seahawks have a JJ Watt? Can Clowney be as successful
without another threat like JJ Watt being on the line?

No I am not freaked out by the question (whatever the fuck that means) Clowney has played only three seasons with Watt. The "Watt made Clowney better " theory has been debunked over and over again. Several tines on the forum. A video was posted of Clowney destroying the Hawks line without Watt. He made the All pro team in '16 when Watt was out the whole year. Clowney is successful period...end of story.

This is a good trade from both sides. Clowney is a physical freak 270# who can run 4.5. He could blossom into an defensive MVP candidate. Mingo was also a high draft pick and good not great player. The local guys had good things to say about Jacob Martin working hard and improving just like they said about Clark over the last few years. A #3 draft pick is a big piece to. Does anyone remember talks about maybe getting a 3rd or 4th rounder for Earl "best safety in NFL" Thomas.

I think it is a fair trade on both sides.

You are literally on your own private island if you think it was a fair trade. If it was the other way around (and we got this return for ET one year ago today) Hawks fans would have been jumping off the Aurora bridge.

Didn't we get nothing for Earl? And I remember the 3th or 4th round picks as compensation from the Cowboys being the rumor. The Texans got a bigger package for Clowney than what was rumored to be the market for Thomas. Thomas was basically the best safety in the NFL at the time. Clowney is a freak but he is not the best D line.

I think we won the trade just like I think the Phils, Yanks, and a number of of other teams won the "market".

People were hoping for a 1st and expecting a 2nd. Martin is a decent role player and Mingo is trash. Hawks payroll only goes up ~$4 after the trade with the Texans paying about half his salary. Insanity. Find me one link saying it was a fair trade and I will find you a dozen that say it was shockingly one sided.
