Surprised there was no post on this... Jachai Polite?
Dude was a 3rd round pick as an EDGE by the Jets... 11 sacks his senior year, 2nd team All America nod. Has off-the-field issues... really struggled at the combine. Jet's released him and Hawks picked him up.
He was projected as fringe first round until the combine... 4.84 40 and bad interviews did him in.
Not very often a team gets a free 3rd round pick. Great addition if he can keep his head screwed on.

I think he is a good fit here. Being on the PS gives him some time to develop and learning from guys like Clowney, and others on how to be a good pro. Mark my words this kid is special, but as you said he needs to keep his head on straight.

speaking of being a knucklehead, PC was one once lol...from an article on how each HC got started in their careers
https://tv5.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/269 ... oaches#seaPunctuality is one of Carroll's three rules. But as a fresh-out-of-college 23-year-old, it was a personal weakness. And that was problematic as he tried to break into coaching as a graduate assistant working with receivers at his alma mater.
"What I remember about it is really having a hard time getting to meetings on time," Carroll said with a chuckle. "I was just coming out of school. I didn't have my act together. I had as much trouble just getting to the staff meetings and stuff like that, being on time and being where I was supposed to be. I was [like] a knucklehead player, you know? I wasn't any better than those guys. I had to get my act together. Chester Caddas was tearing me up, my head coach back in the day. I couldn't get to places on time."
As players walk out of the locker room at Seahawks headquarters, a sign on the wall reminds them of Carroll's three rules: 1) Always Protect the Team; 2) No Whining, No Complaining, No Excuses; 3) Be Early. "That's why one of the rules of the program is to be early ... because I found that you could coach that," Carroll said. "That you could get better at it. So I have forever tried to help our guys understand the appreciation of respect and how respect is part of that, setting your schedule properly and having your priorities in order and all that kind of stuff. That was really what I needed to learn."

I'd say he probably is special, but not in the traditional sense.

Little different using your first pick on one vs. grabbing one off the scrap heap.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 5:53 amthought it was a mistake to deal with players with character issues?...$100,000 worth of fines last season lol

Good explosion off the snap of the ball, Gets to the QB in a hurry, and I don't know why but I just see pro bowl written all over him.
